No, but it's a totally unbelievable show based on that clip. A dude walks in, sees that, and just turns toward the stairs instead of...well, anything else, really.

Didn't realize the cop was really 5'6" 145 lbs. That is legit tiny.
I would normally call this over-charging, but fact Porter has a history and I don't see the police wanting to cause drama during the playoffs might be legit. On the other hand no injuries were reported so does support overcharging.
Porter has an alcohol problem. That is for sure. Probably not full blown alcoholism, but combined with a bit of an ego gets himself in trouble.
Fact no one got hurt means Porter problem pleads no contest of guilty to a misdemeanor Disorderly conduct charge and pays like 1k fine.

Officer Abel wrote that he, with help from the unidentified men, grabbed Mr. Porter by the jacket to pull him off of the doorman.
“Porter let go of Neskow dropping him back down to the ground. Porter came to rest against a car parked directly in front of the establishment
Sounds to me like Porter already had a hold of Neskow before the officer arrived or why else would he be pulling him off. I haven't personally seen the official police report yet, if someone has a link I would love to see it but every report I've ready so far has said that the officer was called to help because Porter was assaulting the doorman. - jaydogg1974
It's pretty clear in the PG article - When Abel arrived, and Porter's friends told Abel they had it under control, that's when Porter grabbed the little douchey doorman.
I'm not condoning Porter's actions, just don't think it's that big of a deal. He should be suspended for a week without pay, plead no contest at his court date, stop going out if he can't handle it, and move on.

Sounds like they didn't have it under control. Also, what exactly about the doorman man him "douchey?" Do you know the guy?
Not saying anyone was right/wrong in the situation, some people just seem to be blasting on the cops/security simply because they are cops/security.

Also why would a cop listen to PORTERS FRIENDS saying the situation is under control. Bar security would make sense to listen to. Kinda like listening to a bank robber telling you everythings good now just finishing up.
Anyway no physical injuries so does seem like a case of overcharging though if you put a pinky finger on a cop you can be charged with aggravated assault. This will end up in a no contenst plea on probably a single misdemeanor.

I agree with the last part 100%. Just don't see the need to bash the officer or the doorman when Porter was clearly the person being the ass, makes it even worse when this apparently isn't the 1st time they've had a problem with Porter and it isn't the 1st time Porter has threatened the doorman. Having been in the bar business for 20+ years maybe I'm being a little oversensitive but having been in this situation many, many times from everything I've seen the doorman and the officer handled the situation exactly the way they should have.
Edit: In my early years in the business I was the bartender responsible for Darren Perry's DUI so I know personally how these situations can go wrong if not handled properly.

Just reading DK's site. The reason Porter was blocked from getting into the bar was he apparently threatened to kill the same doorman the last time he was there.
When the cop showed up he said he witnessed Porter standing over the bouncer trying to bully his way into the bar.
The Steelers just announced they're putting Porter on leave.

We just don't know Porter's side of the story. For all we know, the bouncer tried to slap the bullet wound scar on Porter's butt.

We don't, but let's all take Porter's side since all cops and bouncers are just a bunch of power-tripping douchebags and are obviously always in the wrong.
