I was kidding around on twitter yesterday during the game about Provorov being better than Werenski because Werenski skates with Jones whereas Provorov skates with AMAC. Seriously tho Columbus has built a nice defense there.

In all honesty, I was being sarcastic to the notion that AMac is dragging down Provorov. At least to the extent it's stated on here.

Aside from him being high, all I can think was someone (Hak???) said, "poop, we only have 4 guys, someone go," and Jake went. Because there was no one within 30 feet of the bench.
- jmatchett383

you know who you are supposed to change for so if your guy is one the ice and not on the bench maybe its a good sign you shouldn't go. I seriously don't understand too many men on the ice penalties unless its because you miss time playing the puck and the person you are changing for getting onto the bench. you know who you change for

He plays with an edge but he needs to play faster.

I'm guessing someone created panic on the bench and said there was only 4 guys on the ice. Only way I can understand Jake leaving the bench with such urgency.

The beats seem to focus on +/- a lot more than anyone who knows how the stats is calculated should, so Bill's breakdown in today's blog was timely.

I'm sure Ghost being -12 is red meat to guys like Timmy.

I was joking too and stated how impressive both guys are. I know Bob is an outstanding goalie but I think the defense they have built has a lot to do with them improving. I still think they are playing above what they are ultimately but I do think they are a good team. Werenski is 19, Jones 21, Murray 22, Nutivaara 22 and their two "veterans" are both under 30 with Johnson being the old man at 29 and Savard all of 25. young with so much upside

The short handed GA and ENGs explain Vandeveldes +/- too

Out of players with 100 minutes played, Schenn is 18th on the team in 5v5 goals, ahead of only Bellemare, Weise, and Schultz. He's outstanding in his role on the PP, but that isn't good.
- Mononoke

Just found out last night that Bellemare is the worst 5v5 scoring forward over the past three years. Thank God he generates all that defense.

I saw this too and remembered Elliot Friedman's article where he quotes Hextall saying something like "Bellemare can play up and down the lineup"

The phrase is trademarked as Everything is literally terrible. After long discussions with my brain trust, we decided it was in the best interest of our success to use proper grammar in the phrase. We cited "live fearless" and all the flack Blue Cross has taken because of their gaff. We didn't want that to be us, so we settled on literally.

That being said, in all other situations, litrilly is correct.
