I know poor coaching is the running joke right now but I don't like WD. He doesn't inspire confidence for me (and many other people) so how is his team suppose to follow him?

Even the comments from the canucks don't seem overly supportive.

Ok, I am prepared to give Willie some rope on this one. Add in that he had very little time frame to make a decision. But I still do not see any problem bringing in Pedan unless you do not trust him.

Was it a waiver thing?

- Beatle_john

Maybe, it could have meant sending forward down. Emergency call up rule might require putting someone on inured reserve. Just beleiving one of Hutton or Tanev can go was what they banked on.

You clearly support the tank so why wouldn't you want Willie to stay?

I get your concern. But don't see a top heavy draft this season. So it will be another piece that will have to do. Maybe the course is not replacing two stars like the Sedins. But upgrading the whole team enough to make up for their production by committee.
- Nuck4U

I don't think that's possible with how the playing minutes are distributed. You got the 3rd and 4th lines playing minimal 5x5 minutes most nights.

How does 'even distribution of scoring' even work? Playoffs ok, but it don't work during the regular season. It's a myth.

Pedan is close to his 30 days for having to be exposed on waivers, Subban is injured not sure who else available. Some of the defenseman are pto's I think. Saunter maybe?
- Reubenkincade

Pedan is meeting the team in Nashville, and if he ever does hit that mark hopefully he wont get exposed and they send Biega down

It's kind of brutal to watch WD tiptoe and play it as safe as possible all the time cause he's scared of losing his job
- NorthNuck

That's the rub on how the team seems to play. Like they are trying not to lose instead of playing to win.

CBJ is doing it. WD somewhat. Player upgrades help balance it out. Also by whole team that includes the D too. If their production goes up with more from other lines that's your committee make up on two stars.

Ben Hutton blocked a shot Friday with his left hand and is "out for some time", according to WD.

He looked like he was in some serious pain when he blocked it. Couldn't hold the stick with the left hand for the rest of the shift

I dont think you can call the Canucks bubble either. Bubble is the reasonable peak of their ability (with playoffs being things perfectly aligning), but I dont think they are a bottom feeder either. They are the best of the worst teams and worst of the playoff contenders. They are the a bubble-bubble team
- WhiteLie

It seems a lot like that. With all the factors bereift of twists and turns on who's able to go and what WD sees it's a game of snakes and ladders for this season. The bubble team that floats up and down depending on which way the wind blows.

I would also like to see Pedan stay up over Biega, but Biega is close to getting enough games in for exposing in expansion.
It leaves an option open to move a defenseman if/when we drop out of playoff contention.

CBJ has four guys scoring over 20 goals. Other than Dubinsky they also lead the team in minutes for forwards.

Your first line is going to be your work horse. Your third and forth lines are now basically special teams.

Trying to create an environment of "balanced scoring" during the regular season sounds like recipe for mediocrity to me.

coaching excuse used.

PS - everytime you post, I am going to call you out on your obsessive excuses that you use. Coach Excuse, GM Excuse, or Injury excuse as to why you feel the Canucks are a GOOD Team instead in actuality that they are quite bad. Only then will you finally realize you are wrong and that I am right.

I've been saying Jake Virtanen reported to camp out of shape. He reported around 220 and I thought he looked too chubby in the pre-season. This kind of confirms it...

My assessment made without consideration of coaching. I know WD has some control of things but I based it entirely on the roster, Canucks are on the bubble of being considered a bubble team

It's the small shoulders and big head that give phil his strange look. He probably likes this angle better...

I really don't get why Kessel gets the flack that he does. The guy is a cancer survivor, hates the media, is funny as hell, can skate like the wind, and he gets poop on like crazy. I would be insanely happy to have a player like Kessel on my team. Just saying.

We need to draft the best C on the board and we will be fine...I feel good about the future of our D. Just need some offense
- CanuckDon

Definitely. Though it could come from any forward or D player that is BAP. With the development of Bo and adequate play of Sutter a C might not be the most pressing thing this draft. Well at least not as 1st pick if BAP plays another position. Maybe, then take a gamble on shooting for fences with lower pick C.

The more you look at CJB the more fascinating it becomes. Torts is doing some crazy poop.
