Not being sarcastic. I know 89 will say they didn't, and I respect his input, but the guys at WGR put on twitter a few times they tried to move both of them.

Plus Dreger, Laraque, others have said the Sabres have interest in trading Kane

- sbroads24

Kane im not sure of because it seems more likely that decision came from Pegula than TM but who knows.

Coller mentioned the Bogosian thing. Don't know where that has gone since.

you're right...gonna bail on that...waste of time
- Michael Pachla

You don't have to bail on it I'm just giving my honest opinion I really don't want to lose Cal when we spend so much time letting him develop and then you're just going to let him go to a different team and then we waste a pick to get exactly what we just lost

In of the opinion that Murray came in guns blazing in his first six months. Big trades were cool, he had deep pockets, and he wanted the rebuild to be complete at hyper speed. He had mixed results - though I don't have as many problems with his trades as many others - I think it's fair to say he made moves that haven't worked the way he hoped, and others that still have to be fully evaluated.

I think he found out winning trades is HARD.

I get the sense he's still a big game hunter at heart, but I think he's seen that sometimes it's better to build more gradually and in smaller increments.

- Der Kaiser

Id say thats whats made me sour on him the most though. He is for the most part pretty good at drafting. I wish he would have waited to go all guns blazing now instead of going after it way too early. Would be in a similar position asset wise as the leafs.

Gotta think its work for the off season because there's a lot to do imo
- Sabresfan-365

Still the same two pieces we'va always needed. Top pair LHD and a genuine sniper.
Murray tried to address both w Kuli + Fowler and the Nylander draft. We keep trying.

I'd like to see the defense upgraded more than any goalie change. With the exception of a few guys, all goalies in the league seem somewhat interchangable.

When we got Lindback, folks screamed that he sucked and having him on the team was proof positive we were tanking. When he was traded, fans of other teams yelled that it was a tank move.

When we got Chad Johnson, Sabre fans couldn't believe it. It was another disgraceful tanker. When we didn't re-sign him, they made it sound like a disaster.

Enroth was another guy who people couldn't believe we let go, and again other fans thought his trade was tankalicious. Then he went to the Leafs and got himself waived.

Nilsson is the latest guy who was viewed as a total chump before he played a period for the Sabres, then became a cult favorite.

All this leads me to believe this is not a position to lose sleep over.

Jeremy White mentioned Bogo too. And for as many horrible opinions they have, they also have good connections through the organization.

Someone mentioned awhile ago that you can tell who's going to be traded by the way they talk about the player on the radio.

White and Schopp were talking about Pysyk for months before he was traded, about how they shouldn't trade him. They knew Murray didn't want him

Agreed. A lot of big decisions to make.

Gionta - UFA Likely gone at the end of the year.
Foligno - RFA Likely in for a medium sized raise and long term deal
McCormick - UFA Finally off our books. Best of luck in his future retirement.
Girgensons - RFA No clue what Murray will do with him yet. If he keeps up his play from last three games could make it interesting
Larsson - RFA Likely was looking at a pretty decent raise or trade bait for a defenceman. Injury for the year challenges things a bit but I'm guessing he's given another short term deal.
Grant - UFA See ya!
Kulikov - UFA Probably gone. Hopefully Murray can get something for him at deadline if he can come back healthy
Franson - UFA Gone at deadline if I had to guess
Falk - UFA Not that important could take him or leave him in Rochester
Fedun - UFA Would like to resign him as an ideal 7th defenceman/Rochester guy
Nillson - UFA If he can go on a run maybe we trade him for a piece at the deadline. Otherwise it will depend on the situation with Ullmark, Lehner and Petersen on if he's given a contract offer for next year
Lehner - RFA My gut tells me he's given a big six year deal at at least 5 or 5.5 million a year. I'll hate it but that's just what my gut tells me.

O'Reilly/Grigs comes to mind as well

so how often are they mentioning bogo and how do we get them to mention him way more?

That last one is fireable, hes done alright with contracts as GM so i dunno he'll go that far. Funny thing is as long as that list is, it doesnt even cover some of the biggest ones. Such as who do you bring in? and who do you bring up from the farm? Do you pencil a spot for Guhle/Nylander? Head coach? you would have hoped that at this stage you wouldn't need to make this many decisons in all these areas.

I have a hard time blaming the GM for going fast when the owner promised the Cup in three years.

Foligno should stay. I'd like to keep Fedun. Girgensons we'll see how he finishes the year out. If he goes back to how he's played last year and beginning of this year then he's gone IMO

Yeah, but I think those 3 years had already passed by the time Murray came around

Not sure what Pegula asked of Murray privately when he hired him but either way wish they waited.

The biggest pieces I miss are those two 1sts. Everything else I'm 'meh' with.

But those 1sts are huge.

I would've liked to keep Compher. Would've been the perfect 3rd line center for the team but hopefully another guy we drafted like Asplund or Estephan can turn into that.

all i can think is if you remove kane/bogo/lehner from the team

a) how much worse are we really ....if at all?

b) what a great position we'd be in to go after a big name player.

I definitely agree with that statement. I do think Kane when he's on is a game changer and his speed and determination is second to none but I'd rather have those high prospects maybeeee.. I don't know tough call with Kane.

I think you misinterpreted what I said. I don't think Cal or myself believe he can come in right away and be a starting NHL goaltender. I think all he and his adviser want to know is that he has a chance to come in and be the franchise goalie in the next few years should his play improve. If Murray tells him that Lehner and only Lehner is that guy and that at best Petersen can be his reliable back up then I will be very disappointed. Cal has the make up t be a leader and terrific goaltender. You can bash his conference all you want. The fact is Notre Dame has legit NHL prospects come out of it and it named its goalie the captain which just doesn't happen. The guy has played a ridiculous amount of games in a row and is showing his resilience.
Again - Not expecting him to start in Buffalo right away. I think he just wants assurance he can be the guy here should his play back it up. And his adviser and him seem to not be sure based on what Murray has said about Murray in the past. Which I think is wrong.

- bluengold12

Ahh, ok, the article I read implied that he should demand to be in the NHL and be playing regularly. I still think it's silly to say what could happen in 3 years though. I don't think Murray would shut the door, especially if he wants to sign him. That just wouldn't make sense.

The 2 games Gorges missed last week we won, the one game he played in we lost. Coincidence?
