Eichel is going to have to learn that you need to be judicious with the sour-face. It can get old, and annoying, rather than inspiring, in an awful big hurry.

After his little tantrum last week, he would have been better served by saying something positive about the Sabres getting 3 of 4 points against good teams. At some point you need a little positivity from your leaders especially with a young team. I thought the Sabres did great this week.

If Eichel is (presumably) the future captain, how much are people going to want him to be their leader with this attitude?

Petersen's a 22 yr. old goalie coming out of college...it's a huge jump to the NHL no matter how much potential one has...

if you're a gm, would you make a 22 yr. old college goalie, one who doesn't even have international experience, your starter at the nhl level?

i will admit he seemed to be in western conference-mode when he first got to buffalo...since then he seems to have altered his strategy a bit

it's a much faster nhl than it was even two years ago, especially in the east

Yeah but the league has been going that way since Crosby was a rookie.Younger, faster, stronger....its not like he was blindsided.

The biggest thing with GMTM that i see is his aggressiveness to speed up the rebuild. All fine and dandy when you have core NHL players in their prime years. He did not. He traded for the whopping 3 NHL players in their primes ( RoR, Lehner, Kane). The rest of the team is made up of good but still developing youngsters a few years away from their respective primes, old farts way past their prime or players that simply arent very good. You guys expect to see a Cup contender out of this rebuild, and rightfully so...but do you have even 10 players that could be on a Sabres team that contends in a few years, let alone core players?

reality, there are only a dozen or so goalies worthy of a 60 plus game schedule and in a cap era, it's better for a team to have their hands in 2 baskets instead of 1


if miller didn't cry, didn't whine, didn't flop around, didn't complain when the back up was rewarded with back to back starts I would not have suck a distaste for him

he shortly followed the greatest goalie we will probably ever see in buffalo and IMO was way over-hyped and never won the big games


his talent was not much better than biron and career stats back it up

biron had a 2.61 gaa

after det and pit, the list of cup winners includes the bruins, who weren't exactly speed-demons and the kings who played a heavy western conference style game...both those franchises won just before murray took over...and Anaheim put the kibosh on "the new nhl" in 2007...


and, btw, why are you so enamored with what murray and the sabres do or have done?
