it seems odd yeah.... my only assumption is that babcock and co. still want to teach these kids how to close out games with a lead... a "try to win but still teach" mentality of sorts

Every hockey team does it.

Especially the Team Canada Junior Team - every franking year.

it kind of goes against the philosophy of a good defense is a strong offense

That's the thing with some of these blown leads. Yeah it's inexperience, but teams push back when they get down.

It's better having the lead to blow, rather than in recent years you could set your watch by the Leafs getting scored on early, and often. And not coming back.

It's weird hockey logic.

Completely dominate and humiliate a team in the first period.

Then completely change your entire strategy - just try to limit them to 3 goals over next two periods.

- Atomic Wedgie

The pitfalls of that approach should be ingrained in every single one of them who was here for the Bruins playoff dabacle, and any one who commits to playing this way should be hit repeatedly on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper and sent to a literal dog-house because even a (frank)ing dog learns from their mistakes faster than that...

Good morning, my Leafy friends.

Happy Leafs/Habs day.

Let's start the trash talk, shall we?

You leave poutine out of this!

Actually those health facts scared me. I knew them, but I've been ignoring them lately. I started winter cycling this week in order to earn calorie/beer credits.

If the Leafs make the playoffs this spring, I'm gonna need to be in really good shape.

Yesterday my food intake was a nice big apple and arugula salad for lunch (light balsamic dressing), and some salmon and tuna sushi and sashimi for supper. Nice and healthy, maybe a total of 1000 calories in all.

Which really helped to offset the approximately 1000 calories of beer.

They certainly started early in "holding in to the lead"

Last three days of my Mexican vacation were spent curled up in fetal position in bed, only interrupted by running to washroom to blow yellow water out my bum. I had three meals over the final three days.

I know that sounds horrible, but I think I lost weight over the week, so there is a silver lining.

Got home last night. Gawd, I love my own bed. I haven't gotten out of it yet!

Well, 1000 calories is 5 pints... that's not an unreasonable night. It's certainly not a "Dozzer" night

(It may however make Dozzer feel worse about a Dozzer night.... )

That would be strongly correlated with spending most of three days blowing water out of your arse...

Doctor: sure, there are a few problem areas, Mr. Dozzer, but that's to be expected for anyone over the age of 80!

Mmm, food borne illness, I know it well. So fun. You should have a poutine now, to regain your strength.
