pretty sure you'd have to add another draft pick if you threw in de la Rose
- DoubleDown

Look at what they gave the first time around to get him. Not much and he had way more value back then.

I would rather get a center, but if Gallagher is done for the year, it may not be dumb to go after him. Even if it would not be that bad, Pittsburgh won the cup with Kessel on the third line.

Lekhonen-Plek-Andrighetto
Carr-Mitchell-Flynn
Fanrham-McCarron-Scherbak

Oh great, we finally get to see more of Andrighetto instead of trying something that might work with Scherbak.

they will 100% need to acquire at least one decent forward by the deadline, no question. Bergevin usually comes through at the deadline.

MT will probably switch lines a couple of times during the game anyway...

He would be a rental. I figure a 2nd round pick would do the trick. Throw Delarose or whatever with the pick if need be.

Stay positive. Gallagher is out for two months, so they can try many things meanwhile.

Vanek back in Montreal. Yes or no.

Discuss.

If he didn't cost too much, why not?

Gallagher out 2 months

Canadiens Montréal ‏@CanadiensMTL · 7m7 minutes ago

Medical update: B. Gallagher underwent surgery last night in Montreal. Fractured left hand. His recovery is expected to be minimum 8 weeks.

That (frank)ing sucks man.

2 years in a row... his hand will be a mess when he is 40.

Scherbak is bound to succeed with that kind of natural talent on his line.
- hscesq

I don't expect him to play more than 5 mins, but at least he is playing with someone he is familiar with, which might make the transition easier.

He may get more playing time after a few games. It will be his first game in the NHL (I think so).

no reason to start him high up in the lineup. if Montreal struggles or falls behind maybe he'll get a bump.

His hand will be a mess immediately!! His first hand injury could be the reason he can't really score now? Pretty hard to grip the stick with pins, rods and screws in your hand. Add to that a second mangling of the same hand! Yikes!! Gallagher has definitely had some bad luck in the last calendar year.

I'd rather see a Carr-McCarron--Scherbak

I like Carr and McCarron together.

Agreed. Scherbak playing with Farnham is ridiculous.

It probably doesn't matter though.

Playing Farnham at all is ridiculous if you ask me.
