Time to give up on EJ. His days of playing a full season are behind him. |

then Joe goes to Beauch and asks him to waive his NMC....send him back to Anaheim where he's always played well, or somehow to Montreal close to family.
Still think they should go with 7F and 3d. - 10baci
losing one of Soderbeg, Comeau, Grigo, or Colborne isnt the worst. 3 of would be exposed. You can keep Grigo based on age and just bc of the ROR trade.
Other than that, there is no one to worry about when it comes to fwds |

So can Beauch waive his NTC, be available for the expansion draft and still return to the Avs because of his contract? Does waiving his NTC make him eligible for the draft but gets a pass on being protected? |

I just picked up Brian Elliott on my fantasy team. And I do not feel the least bit guilty |

yes he can, if he waives his NMC he can just expose himself to the draft but still be an Av after all said and done (which might be a real possibility as teams are allowed to start asking players if they are willing to do that in a few weeks I believe) |

Gardiner my friend. They need Gardiner.
That being said I'm saying the Av's win 5-1. Rantanen hat trick. Iggy is somehow a -3 despite only one goal against. - Wildschwein
Must be the metric conversion. |

Are the Avs going to do the full rebuild?
There's certainly a deal to be made with the Sens if thats the case..... Sens have prospects with White and Chabot both going head to head tomorrow for the gold.
edit: full rebuild would mean 1/2 top picks. They already got tons of potential |

The usual.
We'll sell off our scraps and cap dumps for top picks and prospects.
It's the HB way. |

Do I even have to tell you what to do.
Honestly no one wants to hear about Chabot and White, News flash every team has amazing prospects they all get excited about, the sens are not special bc they have 2 playing in the gold medal game.

I guess he hasn't noticed the TSN circle jerk about Tyson Jost this WJC - DDM-Coga
I think they have moved on from Jost to Cirelli ...,but yes they were all about Jost for the most part ...Ferraro was ogling over him worse than jero and a pack of ladyboys |

I think they go with 8 skaters due to Beauchemin's contract (no one is going to take him with another year at $4.5m) and protect:
Duchene, Landeskog, MacKinnon, Rantanan*
Johnson, Beauchemin, Barrie, Zadurov
Pickard
*I'm not sure if Rantanan has to be protected...do his games last year count as a season? If he doesn't, sign Grigorenko to a $1m or so contract and protect him. He's a decent 3rd line center for that money. Same question applies to Bigras...if they bring him up this year, does he become draft-eligible?
Sign Wiercioch to a 2 year, $1m per year deal and expose him as the required defenseman. He's good enough at that money to keep if not selected.
Trade Soderberg at the deadline for the best pick/prospect Colorado can get. Trade anyone else we're not protecting at the deadline for the best pick/prospect Colorado can get, as long as they retain the two required forwards for the draft (without new contracts, that is only Soderberg, Comeau, Colborne and McLeod). Perhaps re-sign Rene Bourque to a 1 year $1m deal and expose him if necessary...he's been good enough at that amount of money to keep next year if they had to...but he's also been good enough to trade at the deadline for a 4th or 5th round pick too.
Expose Varlamov. He probably won't be selected, but even if he is there should be 2-3 decent short-term options (Bishop, Miller) for next year. I doubt he'll be selected over Howard/Mrazek or Fleury/Murray though.
I'm glad I'm not in the GM business for real. Signing/trading/exposing players like this seems like a dirty business when you realize these are people's lives you're messing with. |
