In hindsight the Rangers didn't even acquire Mark Messeir till he was 30, now he was a special case & no one could have expected he play for the next 14 years after that but it can happen.
I don't think Zuc is a old 29, he is small obviously & those guys can break a little earlier but I see him not only finishing out this contract here but finishing his career here. - B2B76

if they traded Zucc, and I still don't see it, I definitely dont see it happening mid season, talk about tearing apart a locker room.
That would be a July trade like when they traded Brass - jimbro83
I'm going to say not 1 player gets traded out of the top 9. Unless the team fully craps the bed the 2nd 1/2. |

And I am saying I pretty call out everyone when needed. Very few I haven't. Stepan, Kreider, Miller, McDonagh, Hank etc. have been called out and I am not just piling on Klein, especially since in the past, I noted how wise of an acquisition getting him was. If you want to blame Zucc there that's fine, take it off Klein's ledger and put on Zucc, who should have hustled straight back and not taken a parabolic route back to the d-zone. But Klein caused the third goal.
You are not dealing Stepan for an expiring Shattenkirk with no guarantees he will sign. Plus I don't think he goes anyway. - airjan23
There's no chance of dealing Stepan, unless the return is huge. He is easily a top 6 center on any team!! Rumors started with mention of his NTC kicking in next season. He's pretty much hit his prime and has been a solid 2 way player. As far as the way AV develops young players... I didn't like what happened with Mcilwrath, but he hasn't been as hard as JT as he has been in the past. Can't argue with the results! Hayes and Miller where 2 of his favorite whipping boys and now they're solid top 6 guys. Compare AV's high speed system to boring days of Torts. It's not like we're so talented up front, but yet we're one of the best offenses in league. Our problem is same as end of season, worse. Defense is not getting us out of first round. Stop giving Klein a pass just because he has a better contract than Staal and G... he needs to go. If we can't trade then waive. Need to make room for right D. G will be bought out next year. Count on it. But we're stuck this season. Nash was the guy everyone thought was gone, and I still think he's the guy to trade for Shattenkirk. Work out the money. Even if Shattenkirk doesn't resign, Nash only has one year left. Zuc should also be dangled. As much as everyone loves him, it's because he's small and plays hard. But he's 28 and still getting 4.5 mil for next 3 years? His stats aren't great and I've never seen anyone miss as many opportunities as him. Also have tons of mediocre 3rd and 4th liners we can throw into deals. |

we're talking about no one in the top 9 getting traded.. so next logical step would be draft picks |

I just dont see the trade happening this year, and thats ok. as long as there is a plan to improve the D this summer maybe we just have to live with this year and see how they do. They are not winning a cup with the Defense, not with Girardi in the lineup |

Next time he likely sees the ice in a NHL uniform is next year for the Las Vegas team...if he is not a healthy scratch for them. |

All depends on what shape the team is in at the deadline. |

I also find it odd Girardi is getting all the crap again this year, when clearly the guy who really sucks this year on the right side is Klein.
Girardi having much better year than last with less minutes = All Girardis fault
Klein regresses big time, gets more minutes than Girardi = No problem |

The Rangers have 22 games before the trade deadline and then 20 following that time. If they go NHL .500 before the deadline that put them at a respectable 75 points.
By that time, the hope is that they would be healthy and possibly bolstered by a trade and be able to reach 100 points and a playoff spot.
That may not get them into the top 3 in the Metro but that might not be such an indictment with the teams that are surrounded by. |

they both suck, hows that?
Gorton really doesnt need a true #1 RHD considering who has been playing with Mcdonagh so far this season. I think a minor move that would shift some people currently playing around would help a lot |

Exactly. I want to see what this team looks like mostly healthy, before I would be on board with anything. |
