A legend I was honestly hoping the bills would cut him to just give him one chance at playoffs I feel bad for the guy heart and soul deserves nothing but the best

After giving it some thought here is what I would do if given control of this team for this season. I realize there's no miracle working here and guys like Bogosian, Moulson, Ennis likely aren't going anywhere with there contract and neither is Girgensons. But these I think are some logical moves I'd make once O'Riley is healthy in a few weeks.

First things first

Sent to Rochester:
- Nick Deslauries
- Derek Grant
- Justin Falk

Brought up from Rochester
- Alex Nylander
- Nick Baptiste
- Taylor Fedun

Trades:
To Edmonton: Cody Franson(money retained)
To Buffalo: Anton Ladler 6th round pick

To Anaheim: Brian Gionta, Justin Bailey 2017 2nd round pick (Minnesota) 2018 2nd round pick Buffalo
To Buffalo: Cam Fowler (Small money retained)

On the trades - Franson is a expiring FA we could use new blood in the bottom six center position for the year and Ladler hasn't exactly worked out there either. A wash of a trade
Ducks trade - Fowler won't come cheap. He's having a great season and Anaheim is likely looking at the playoffs but if we give them a veteran expiring contract and leader in Gionta and a future fast power forward who is NHL ready in Bailey along with the two second rounders I think maybe we can get them to pull the trigger.
I'd also have an open competition with Lehner and Nillson. I'd play the hot hand. You lose a game - Onto the next guy. You win two games? You get the next two games. You win those? Keep going. You get the point.

I'd desperately love to trade Kulikov too but I'm assuming they won't.

So my line up would look like this

Kane ROR Reinhart
Nylander Eichel Okposo
Foligino Ennis/Girgensons Baptiste
Moulson Ladler Carrier

Fowler Risto
Kulikov McCabe
Gorges Bogosian
Fedun

Williams was asked whether one of the questions in his mind was whether the Bills will be rebuilding or making another run at breaking the postseason drought, which is at 17 years.

"That's a big cloud of 'I don't know'," he said. "All I can say is I just don't know. We'll see.""

Certainly not saying that.

Just saying he's one player, moving forward, that should maybe not be here. Certainly not with the 'C'. I'd just like better than Moulson, Gionta, Grant, DesLauriers, etc.

And then there's Bylsma.

- Pairo11

I posted earlier Gionta gets a lot of un warranted heat because he wears the C. He was here to keep the locker room stable during the tank years.

He is fine as a 3rd liner and playing pretty well considering. If they transition the C off of him or not I wouldn't be opposed to him being back.

It's really sad I wanted to see him in the playoffs more than any other player on the Bills. He is the one guy who deserved it more than anything.

It would be a stupid idea to bring nylander up he's not ready and we shouldn't waste a year on his contract just Redshirt him

I don't think any of these trades are going to happen until the deadline to be honest I think they're just going to let this go and see what happens

It's sad and I can see why he's going to retire what's the point of staying and giving up your body for a rebuilding season I'm hoping by like a small chance that he plays one more year but he goes to a playoff team but I don't think he's that type of player

Gionta has a NMC, he isn't going anywhere. But Bailey and some picks could be the basis for the Fowler trade also don't look at the Ducks to keep any salary

Gionta I think would waive to go to a cup contender.

Exactly what homie and I thought was going to happen when they fired Rex.

If he does stay that just shows what Williams is really made of.

His family is pretty rooted in Buffalo so I doubt they move but it would be nice to see him in the damn playoffs.

A move to a 4-3 would probably extend his career a bit with being able to rotate the DT's.

Stupid idea? The guys leading the points in the world juniors. He's ready for a shot up here. I think the Franson deal is very realistic and the Anaheim one involves a lot of parts and could be done at anytime

Not on the West coast. He has his cup. He came to Buffalo to finish his career in WNY.

don't be so sure...I believe one of the reasons he signed with buffalo was the proximity to his hometown near Rochester...and don't forget, he has his name on the cup already

I didn't mean a stupid idea from you I'm talking from their standpoint just because he's dominating world Juniors does not mean he's ready for the NHL his contract will slide a year and he'll be ready next year to play so it saves us
