Good point...
Didn't even think of that possibility; though I'm sure he is still a Hab next season and one of Andrighetto or Emelin are in Vegas. |

What do the Habs have to do to get Landeskog and Duchene? These guys will put us over the top. - habs8888
How about one of them? Colorado needs a defenseman, so it would have to be Beaulieu or Sergachev, most likely in a package.
Not sure mtl has what it takes to make the deal. |

Hockey monkey and twigs?
Not much as of now. Wasting my time on the internet (mostly) and start to work again tomorrow. |

Except for the idea that draft rules say exposed goalie can be an expiring contract... |

So you suggest trading Byron, who is signed two more years at 1.66M$? What exactly is good value for us (or over-payment from the other team)? Another third liner? What's the point? Picks? That's pretty much all we'll get, he won't land us Duchene or Simmons... So trade a good body for more picks? Unless it's a high first round, I don't see how that makes the team better. Even if he does half of what he's doing now, I think his contract is a fair one, and we should keep him in the hopes he can keep going this way. - YodaOldBoy
The line in the blog is that Byron is for real and has more offensive talent than anyone recognizes. My point was simply that he is not. He is hot and everything he touches is turning to gold right now. Your response is accurate as it's unlikely any GM overpays for his services because of his numbers this year. My point is more that if that deal present itself, Bergevin better take it because Byron is not for real and will never replicate this years' numbers. He will always be fast and capable of creating based on his speed but he was on waivers a year ago for a reason. |
