It may just be that he and his doctors feel the risk of an accidental collision just isn't worth it. Hopefully it's just precautionary and he is feeling well. I did read recently that Pronger still has occasional lingering symptoms and bad days and his injury was over 5 years ago. Concussions are just horrible.

Pronger must be doing better cause he's playing for the Blues alumni tomorrow.

14 for the BJ

Hope to god minny wins Saturday. I'd love for the rangers, CBj and Pitt to slow down the pace and for us to start winning again. Be nice to get into the top 3 in the div. kinda need to take care of our own game here though. 10 ga in the last 2 games. Yikes.

I heard he was going to be playing... Crazy to think he is still an "active" NHLer.

Concussions are a funny thing..

Is Primeau unable to play due to PCS? If so, that would be tragic 10 years after his last game for the Flyers.
- Feanor

I know someone who knows him pretty well and he still suffers from a few symptoms like mood swings. Overall he's doing OK, but as someone else mentioned, I assume he can't take any unnecessary risk of further collisions...

I'm thinking so I forget what I was watching but they were talking about him being with his son who is a goalie for I forget what team. But they mentioned him still having issues. But that he wouldn't stop his son from playing.

He's a totally odd case. He's still an "active" roster member of Arizona but yet is in the Hall of Fame, works for the DoPS, and is playing in that game.

Awesome lineup for the Flyers.

I would have been more awesome if Hextall was in net for part of the game.

Is everything still terrible, or can I crawl out of the bomb shelter now?

Flyers play in Boston that afternoon. Bet Jonesy and Bundy will be at that game.

I am really looking forward to this. I sent the roster to the coworker I'm attending with they are also very happy about who's there. There will always be some people who miss these events.

The Kimmo thing is odd. But I bet he's got something happening in Finland.

- dragonoffrost

Kimmo was here for Christmas. I played hockey with his kid and some media peeps in Voorhees on christmas eve morning. His kid plays at Avon Prep school

the CBA really needs to be addressed when it comes to the over 35 rule and career ending injuries.

California road trips are not kind to the Flyers, you might want to stay in the bomb shelter for a bit longer

Even without that rule, Pronger wouldn't have retired and given up all the money he was owed.

Savard never retired and and he started his contract as a 33 year old. He's currently on the Devils roster after being traded from Florida who got him from Boston.

That's just for the 1st period. He'll wear his Nick Schultz jersey in the 2nd and his Dale Weise in the 3rd. For the after party he'll sport his RJ Umberger.

The rule doesn't need to be changed, and it works perfectly for what it is designed to do.

They really just need to fix guys with career ending injuries in the CBA. Who cares what age they are I mean look at the LITR list and tell me do those guys really need to be there. Just write off the contract for the team he got hurt on and be done with it. No cap hit if there is documented medical that the guy can not play again.
