You may like to think that how you portray yourself on here is different, I can tell you, it's probably not as different as you'd like to think.

Not one person that I've met from on here (and there's a pretty big list) has been any different in person as they are in their posts. But continue to live in denial. It's your life, not mine.

I might be an optimist here, but I'm probably the most cynical person I know in real life. It's a dichotomy I can't quite wrap my head around. So I can see that some people might be different in real life than their personas on here.

He got what he was asking for, maybe not the term, but I remember reading that he wanted $6M per.

Lehner officially listed as DTD as he missed practice today.

I'm guessing his throat swelled up on him a bit and they're just being careful with it.

Seriously, those (frank)ers fed him to the wolves. WTF did those short sighted morons think was going to be the main topic to be discussed? If this was supposed to be typical Wednesday Coach presser to talk about the Jets game then the morons making the god damn decision on sitting Tyrod should've manned up and had a presser before hand to clear the air. Instead they leave it to the interim coach to cover up the reasoning for them. Kudos to Lynn. He handled himself well. Maybe it was a test. I didn't have a problem with Whaley before this, but this wasn't cool. Something is rotten in the State of Denmark.

They'll probably try and find a taker for Kruger
- Sabresfan-365

over 3 mil a year for 4th line Kruger, they might have a hard time finding a taker for him. Maybe they can trade Crawford or Anisimov

But, Pastrnak!

It totally doesn't matter that only a few guys were going to be picked, he should be judged against everyone, no matter where they were picked, even if it's some guy who was picked in the 4th round that comes out of nowhere to be the next Ovechkin. Why didn't the Sabres pick him!? They (frank)ing suck!!.

If you couldn't tell, I'm being facetious.

But to be serious for a second Central Scouting had Bennett ahead of Reinhart. And it was always "which Sam will they take?" Ekblad wasn't going to be taken. It was going to be a Sam.

Why can't we compare? Who is it hurting? People's feelings?

You can bet your life savings, if Eichel were out-performing McDavid, people would be comparing them constantly on this thread.

I'll tell you what, if people are truly what they are in real life, like they are here, we have way too many up tight, insecure people. (Not you)

You're talking the difference between who was drafted 1st and 2nd, not who was drafted 2nd and 25th...

Also yes Pastrnak is having a good year but it is not even half way over

I think the issue has to do with who takes ownership of the blame/fault. If you're comparing Ehlers to Reinhart that's okay, but you can't really blame anyone other than the Hockey Gods. No one had them ranked closely and the scouts/management would be chased if they would have called his name on draft day.

To say so and so is better is no big deal I don't think, that's an argument or opinion. But some people say we really missed on Samson and I think that isn't an opinion, that's a stated fact and isn't one that really holds water.

If Eichel was outplaying McDavid, ok, they were picked one away from each other. I've conceded that Draisaitl, at the moment, is outplaying Reinhart, but Bennett isn't, and Ehlers wasn't going to be picked, and in any event I'd still take Reinhart over him. And Pastrnak, forget it, it was a great steal by the Bruins, you think every other team that drafted before them wouldn't like to go back and pick him? Players picked immediately around where they were projected are totally fair game, because it's preference at that point, but if you compare someone taken 23 picks away, that's almost an entire round difference. It's not that it hurts someone's feelings, just that it's starting to be a team made a great pick and got a guy lower than he should've went, it's not automatically an indictment on the team that picked the guy high.

Again though, as unbelievable as it is, I'm not really criticizing Murray for not taking Pastrnak at 2 or Ehlerd, I'm just saying that I think maybe Reinhart's ceiling is lower than I or others might have thought.

sure, his ceiling may not be as high as we may have thought but then again he is only in his 2nd year of NHL hockey with a team that has struggled quite a bit as a group. Take Ehlers for example, he is playing extremely well and has surpassed probably everyones expectations except his, but look at the help he has around him: Wheeler, Scheifele, Little, Laine, Lowry, Byfuglien, Trouba, Enstrom...Reinhart has Eichel, ROR, Kane, and Risto. The depth that Winnipeg has is undoubtedly helping Ehlers quite a bit.

That was my only reason comparing to others. Not that we should have drafted them, that they are also in the same 2nd pro year, and are doing just as good or better, to the first forward taken.

If we would have selected Ehlers 2nd, Murray would have been torched

I hear ya. every player taken is shaped by the organization that drafted him, be it the depth on the team, the development period, the front office, the coaches, the city he plays for, and even the fans. I think Reinhart will be a good player throughout his career, probably not a perennial all-star but someone who will always be a top 6 forward until the twilight of his career.
