If Reinhart is going to play wing for the foreseeable future here and he is a natural center and we already have Eichel and O'Reilly and Reinhart is not the fastest wing or a natural wing why not trade him to a team who needs a valuable commodity, a skilled center for a dynamic, fast skilled natural winger?

Trading Reinhart within the next year or so for a dynamic, speed, skilled player was a bold prediction I made about a month or so ago. I know TM said he isn't going to trade Reinhart but he said the same thing about Myers. I never believe what the GM says to the press. Will he trade Reinhart? Who knows, but it's not a crazy idea if the return is like Nylander.

- GilPerreault11

If Nylander is so dynamic, why is he barely outperforming Reinhart? Toronto is a much higher goal scoring team than Buffalo, yet Reinhart has the same number of goals and just 3 less assists than Nylander.

13 of Nylander's points are on the PP while Reinhart has 8 points in the same situation (1 less goal), meaning Reinhart is performing better in the form of the game that is played much more often - even strength (more goals, more points, better +/- rating).

Considering the amount of goals the Leafs have scored it should be higher. Leafs have 25 more than Sabres.

If I were a betting man I'd lay $50 on them losing both games. They'll be close games with one going to OT or shootout.

Boston has the players (and coach) to win the close games. Buffalo does not and they are without OReilly (still their best player).

If they can find a way to beat Rask, that will go a long way towards their confidence.

Kind of my point.

Nylander's also been skating with Matthews basically all year (minus about 10 games, including the last few).

The name Alexei Kovalev has been tossed around as a comparable to William Nylander a couple of times.

They have to park Foligno in front of the damn net. He has hands of stone but they won't be able to move him and it'll create scoring chances.

It's a no-brainier to me but I rarely see him on the PP. they HAVE to get traffic on Rask. Like Dom, if he can see it he'll stop it.

A 20 goal scorer who flourished on a roster with Lemieux for a few years and then had 1 additional standout year later in his career?

Sam's gonna be just fine. Murray has to surround him with better players.

we can't compete with the habs, bruins, or bolts over a long stretch unless we overachieve and bring it most nights

taking a few periods off a week isn't going to get this team anything above 13th in the east, 25th overall

More meaning his play can often be mercurial where he plays great and then has stretches where he is invisible.

I agree. Sam Reinhart is a good hockey player. He does need to play with better players. Not so sure Girgs is a good linemate for him. He needs to be with playmakers.

Girgensons on his line isn't a bad thing overall...unless he's with someone else that can't do a damn thing - then it's crap.

Last game it was Girgensons and Okposo, so that's not bad to try out IMO. Gotta do some big shuffling around with O'Reilly out, and that Foligno/Larsson/Gionta line should never be touched again, so a fill-in from the 4th line needs to move up (or callup from Rochester)

Any word on when Ennis can play ?

I just remember the days when he was an exciting, creative player. Bylsma has helped sap the life out of his game too. I understand the concussion and injury but prior to that his effectiveness had dwindled under Disco.
