The Bills are looking more and more like a joke with keeping Whaley and then letting him pick the coach.

Can't argue this. As brought up previously the presser with just Lynn was pitiful as well.

Here's the tough question:

Would you rather have Rex or Whaley gone if you had to pick just one?

Think Whaley is more of a problem honestly. Rex isn't good, but Whaley just blows it every time it seems. It's like when they fired Roman when it was our defense playing terribly.

All depends on what the expectations were of this team.

Did you think they were a 10-6 team or an 8-8 team?

I think I was guessing around 8-8, certainly no playoffs despite "winning the offseason".

He has implemented a system that focuses on getting pucks deep, turning defenders backs, and then chasing and retrieving the puck, and starting it all over again.

But our best player likes to carry the puck on his stick. Kane likes the puck on his stick (its why he and Jack struggle together). Kulikov and Bogosian are not the brainiest of players, or the most adept play makers, but they can carry the puck in transition and can skate faster than average.

We are asking them to do exactly what they are bad at – make low percentage, lightning fast decisions and pinpoint tape to tape passes. Get the puck up to the evacuated wingers and do it fast and fit it in a tiny window. 99% of the time it doesn’t work.

McCabe also can skate very well. They don’t get activated in the offensive zone and rarely get involved in neutral zone play. We are using our defensemen for their weaknesses.

If you think this is an 8-8 team talent wise, then Whaley is a problem.

I personally think this team has 10 wins of talent.

I don't think a team like Miami has much or anymore than we do.

I think we have lacked good coaching for a long time

I think Whaley is more of an issue but I don't think things would change much with him gone and Rex still here. I'm sure they will hire Lynn because it's the safe choice. For some reason they think he's in high demand.

That's fair. Wouldn't have been shocked if they did better. Forget where I saw it, but we haven't had a coach last 4 seasons since Marv left (they added that this was during the Clinton Administration for context).

Offensively yes a 10 win team (still need WR depth and OL help)

Defensively an 8 win team.

Outside of the front 3 (4) they are pretty weak. Not to mention lack of depth killed them once Aaron Williams got hurt.

CB's are okay but safety and linebackers are a huge glaring need.

Granted a full offseason for Lawson and a hopefully healthy Ragland would be huge but can anyone tell me where Jerry Hughes has been?

I would say based on overall talent this is a 8-10 win team. Better coaching in certain situations and a few depth players could make this an 11-12 win team.

But with what looks like an entire new coaching staff coming in that goes out the window

If they hire Lynn he will be nothing more then a puppet with Whaley pulling the strings, he's already said it was not his choice to start EJ.

from a business perspective lynn is the right choice...I believe they'll be dishing $15 million or so for the remainder of ryan's contract...if they went after the hottest coaching commodity on the market you're paying around $8-9 million a year all total...

personally, i'm fine with lynn...don't care what they do with the head coach right now...I want them to continue building mainly in the secondary and offensive line

keeping taylor off the field was a no-brainer imo...do you think they had any intention of starting jones?

Pegula basically fired Rex and it cost him nothing I was reading yesterday, forgot where it was. I guess it had to do with taxes and the time he fired him or something like that. Like I said Lynn will be the " safe " hire for Pegula and CO. Still have no real QB and things won't change much.

IMO Jones isn't even an NFL QB. QB is the most important player on the team IMO and until we get one, I can't see things changing. Now if they can get Tyrod to be a real QB and his passes are crisper and he actually throws the ball, we might have something. He has good running ability but his passing is bad IMO, puts his WR's in bad spots. Got to throw the ball in the NFL.

that would be interesting...

as for qb, at this point i'd sign a veteran like brian hoyer as a stop-gap...they have a pretty tough schedule again next year

I like Cousins and I would trade anyone not named McCoy for Cam Newton.

I think we have 10 wins of talent on both sides to be honest.

It just didn't come together in important games. That's on coaching IMO.

Our defense did it's job against Baltimore, the offense didn't

Our offense did it's job against Miami, defense didn't, then bad coaching/SPT did them in.

I think only Bills fans thought they had a chance at 10 wins. Before the season started, I was listening to WGR as they read of the schedule, as they did, I thought the Bills would be lucky to win 6 games.

Sure, but that's before we knew how bad/good other teams were.

Did anyone see Arizona as a sub .500 team? That was chalked up as a Bills loss. We won.

Did anyone see Oakland as a 12-13 win team? That was a toss up, ended up a Bills loss

conversely, most had the bills beating Miami at least once...also most had the Oakland game as a tough one based upon the progress they made last season...

the time to break the drought was last season and rexy blew it...ownership had their eyes on him from that moment forward
