I just don't think that it needed a full movie. I enjoyed the hell out of it, but imo Disney is just trying to suck the Mula out of anything and everything they can at this point. Star Wars to me was always special because of how less we were given. The duration between each films made each of them more exciting and more enjoyable. I don't think the franchise needs these subplot films. The film really was for the overboard strict fans who complained about how A New Hope didn't make sense with the sweet spot.

well they paid 4 billion dollars for Star Wars and Lucas films so are you remotely surprised they will have several more films including one about a young Hans solo? I'm fine with it. I'm not looking for an oscar winning film with star wars

Seems like the Devils are bad every year while also having a weak group of prospects. Hard thing to do.

That makes it seem like the only people who have a problem with it are the "overboatd strict" fanboys. For us casual fans, it's a fun movie that explains part of the plot, and is a fun movie to sit back and enjoy.

I enjoyed Rogue One the way I enjoyed Suicide Squad. I went in expecting an action movie and about half way through it delivered. While it wasn't a rehash like the last one I just don't understand why the Empire in episode VIII doesn't just run around killing all the children who have been abandoned/orphaned. Seems to be their weak spot.

Lots of glaring plot holes. 15 minutes after we left the theater my friend was done talking about it and just went home. I don't know why he makes me go with him. He knows I'm not a fanboy.

Once they put the TV show on ABC they'll have killed it for everyone.

Trust me, I get it; I know the situation. I really really don't want to bark up this tree here, but Chinese-Taiwanese-US policy is terribly outdated and a disservice to a true democratic ally. It's laughable too because the US almost singlehandedly provides the Taiwanese all their military weapons and tech. They're also one of our greatest trading partners. Is that not an act of recognition and support? But "officially" we have to pretend and tap our noses. It's all just about "saving face" for China. The treaties are ambiguous anyway as to what they say and just a purposeful act of international confusion so things can get on.

You can enjoy the movies without losing all perspective though. There's no need for half the theater to squeal when a couple droids pop on the screen.

I had one friend go ballistic because I said it was okay and I enjoyed it. You'd think he went to the movie and found god or something. You hear that repeatedly and you have to push back a little.

fun and entertaining is all i want from movies like that, Marvel and DC comics, Transformers, etc. I thought they did a good job with Rogue one.
