I don't think he makes any decisions, he was brought in for marketing purposes and try and create a buffer between the media and Jim.

It's so hard to follow your train of thoughts from day to day, week to week.

Sedins will retire as the only 1000 pt canucks but you slag them all the time for not having heart and now Linden who didn't have the same skill and points as those two but laid it on the line every night is a wussy and isn't worth praising because of his average stats

- belcherbd

You just described Jannik Hansen and Alex Burrows maybe we can raise them to the rafters too

We haven't seen how Linden can manage a team with a broken rib.

Linden is a wussy? Lol ok bud. He inherited a train wreck and I hope he doesn't listen to the vocal minority and he sees this through to the end
- CanuckDon

I don't know why people keep referring to this team prior to Benning being hired as a train wreck.

It was a team that had sacrificed the future to win now and didn't accomplish it. Work was needed to be done but there was and still are many good pieces on that team when he took over.

It was time for Gillis to go but the idea that this team was anywhere near the state failure that this organization has been in previous decades or other teams have been for a decade is just false.

Hischier

Easily prefer Patrick or Liljegren. We need a number 1 offensive Dman something this team has never had and we need a legit number 1 center. I think Hischier is more of a winger but maybe not.

Linden has almost as many goals as Burrows does points.

Burrow's dragon slaying goal will always be remembered fondly but it pales in comparison to Linden's performance in 94.

Liljegren has too many red flags for me I think to pick in the top 5 IMO if we end up there.

I did compare him to Dave Keon who did have more points.

If you don't consider Keon a NHL great you can't consider Linden one

They were both slightly above average guys who were overly loved by their fan bases

I don't consider Linden a NHL great but I do consider him a Canuck great. I don't really give a poop about Keon because he was a leaf but I can understand why he means something to that organization.

So basically you are saying Linden is a top three finisher of an ugly girl contest.

Linden was a warrior, we don't make cup finals in 94 w/o him. You don't need to be a 80-100pt/season player to be considered an exceptional hockey player. But we have that kind of player in Bo Horvat now, so we need the high point producer type to go along with Bo at Center. This is why I like Hischier/Middlestadt. They look like they will produce big points. Patrick will likely be more of a Getzlaf type 1c in this league. Which is still good. Patrick/Bo could be the best 1c/2c combo we have ever had. Though i doubt we would get 1oa, even if we finished last.

It really depends on how far they go in the playoffs this year. The deeper they go the lesser the odds.

I do see similarities. You both follow the Seven Dwarves style of penmanship.

You are Grumpy
He is Dopey
