If they extend Miller or Burrows this year and/or the Sedins next year i will be joining Donna as a rabid Vegas fan.
- Marwood

Just imagine if Vegas has Gaunce, Corrado and a playoff coach that can comprehend complex systems unlike most posters on here.

And what a relief that will be, those two have been a real drag on this organization

You spent the last two seasons claiming that WD is not competent enough to understand any kind of system. Regardless of his years of pro coaching where you'd be jobless if you couldn't be at least basic in your systems. Regardless of how many times you were asked to back it up, you couldn't. People on here gave you their observations on how WD deploys a system. It's been covered during games by hockey personalities and explained by the crew at Canucks Army in their blog. With all that awareness you have to spare, you'd think you would have gave up that embarrassing fight earlier. You saw no system....Hmmmm.... maybe it's time to reconsider just how aware you really are and the limits of what you can see. Or at least dial back the arrogance and learn a few things around here.

- boonerbuck

um no. I did detail it. And no one covered anything here about any system he uses. THat is not correct.
I have not seen anything at canuck army so point it out.

dpnt just make stuff up just to argue

Weird that Torts had the Rangers and has the Blue Jackets at the top of the league yet had Vancouver at the bottom. AV keeps chugging along with the Rangers.....

Stupid Willy got us into the playoffs his first season.

Maybe you're just wrong, and by wrong I mean dead wrong.

You are one of the very few in the world that believes a coaching change would cure all that is wrong with the Canucks.

- golfingsince

thats funny because there are many here that feel the same way as I do.

funny how you have all the successes be because of the coach yet all the failures werent

believe whatever you want to, makes no difference to me

They've been nothing short of outstanding players and citizens for the Canucks, but when it's time to move on, it's time to move on. Linden explains it like the organization somehow owes them something, which is mind-boggling.

Neither them or the organization owes each other anything at this point, they played hard and were paid handsomely. To the tune of 60+ million dollars (each) for their careers.

- LeftCoaster

For me it's not about whether the organization owes them anything, its a purely selfish desire to enjoy what they bring to the end and I think will likely make their legacy more enjoyable to remember than a guy like Naslund.

I think its like an excellent rare bottle of wine. When I get closer to the bottom of the bottle, I'm going to savour the wine more than I did with my first glass. I might not be able to enjoy as big of sips but that's okay because its still very enjoyable.

And I'm certainly not going to toss out the last little bit of it because I'm impatient to try some new wine.

They should retire after this season. They are becoming to weak and slow to succeed. I don't care about their current 2nd line scoring pace as the points have been achieved with extremely sheltered zone starts and approximately 75% of the teams power play time. They have been great for the City and organization but it's time for the Canucks to move on and the Sedin's to start the next phase of their lives.

I understand that sentiment, but I disagree. I think they can still play the game at a higher level then the majority of NHLers. I really enjoyed watching linden play until the end, he was getting 4th line minutes and had become a bit of a shooutout specialist and it was fun to watch him retire a Canuck.

It wouldn't be so bad to see the Sedins getting third line minutes next year...but the year after that keeping them here we are taking too many risks sacrificing spots for youth/development.

I understand you want them to play out their contracts and that's what will almost certainly happen. Linden was a versatile player that could play any role for the team. The Sedin's aren't. They wouldn't provide value in a bottom 6 role in my opinion. Too slow and not physical or defensively sound.

I don't think you are giving them enough credit. They will be fine playing a lesser role. I think the bigger issue as Lord H pointed out above is whether the organization is willing to reduce their minutes and opportunities to allow some youth to flourish.

That's not on the Sedins, its on mgmt to pass that torch on.

Are we really back to coaching? WD is doing a great job with putting in a position for a top-5 pick. Can this team win in any substantial way with another coach? No. There is no way, barring 29 plane crashes, that this team could win a playoff series let alone a cup this year. Dragon, I respect your opinion as there is no doubt a better system could be in place. But how much better? Not much, I think because the personnel is just not there. We will win more games when Edler gets back, but it is sheer ignorance to suggest that this roster is a playoff team, especially with the emergence of McJesus and the oilers in our division.

I think they are getting ready for this second half of the season, but trying to bring Bo on slower as he was thrown to the wolves last year. Just my opinion.

Chalk me up as 'stupid people' than, were three forwards away from being competitive. The pacific has SJ, Edm, LA, ANA. I don't care who's coaching, each of those teams has a stronger roster than ours. I'd even argue Calgary does, but Gulutzen looks to really not be working over there(much better example of bad coaching IMO), but now even they are starting to win.

Unfortunately that is part of WD's issue. He deploys them as his 1st line. They get 1st line ice and only are producing as a borderline 2nd Line. We need someone to make the tough decision and force them to play less.

We should see Baer/Bo/LE as a first line and see what happens.

Chicago has Anisimov as their 2c. Bo is better than him. He would slot into Chi 2c easily. though many teams have a set 2c, that doesn't mean Bo isn't a 2c in this league.
- Retinalz

I doubt coach Q would rather horvat than Anisimov...but I do srgree bo could slot in as a 2c on many teams and the downgrade would be minimal and he might even surprise some

I don't think he was suggesting that Bo was going anywhere but responding to the idea that none of our players would be top 6 on the best 10-15 teams in the league.
