Not for anything folks but I have to say it.... The Sabres and Bills are both stuck in loser mode. The Pegla's certainly saved both teams but can any of you honestly say they know a damn thing about building a winning sports franchise? The Sabres have really not improved significantly, if you can be honest about it... And the Bills are in the same boat..... Until the Pegula's learn how to operate a successful sports team... This is what we get...

Something, something, you have to earn first line minutes. ON 4th line because of respect for other players. Blah blah blah

The Sabres are in desperate need of hitting on someone in the later rounds of the draft. Would be nice if Baptiste can be a guy like Conor Sheary. Getting tired of the Bruins and Pens found money picks. Marchand, Pastranak, Sheary, Rust.

Would definitely be nice.

Baptiste was a 3rd rounder 69th I think. So there is our surprise player.

He's got the wheels to keep up with Eichel. There's a lot of his game that reminds me of Kane, but he seems to have more hockey sense IMO.

He didn't get a ton of time on McDavid's wing in Erie, but they did get PP time together. So he's played with guys that have high skill (albeit at a lower level) and had success.

Guhle was a 3rd as well i think

Peterson was a late rounder as well, but he is a goalie and you never know how his game will translate to the pros

I consider late rounds 4th on

Borgen, Estephan, Olofsson, Glotov (could be really good), Hagel and Brett Murray show progress

and that is just from the 3 Murray drafts

Petersen, Ullmark , Florentino, maybe Possler from the Darcy drafts

the key IMO is focus on goalies and euros round 4 on, instead of some blah player you see 10 times
99 times out of 100, they are bust, non goalies, after the 3rd round but the gems almost always turn out to be Euros

I still want them to sign Fasching's center when he finishes playing this spring, Justin Kloos

the bills are a mess

sad thing is there are about 15 really talented players on that team that deserve better

get a football mind to run them, polian, and let him hire a gm

whatever happens to rex and tyrod, the future gm decides their fate

Do you consider Foligno a hit or a miss? He was a 4th rounder. Really like his game this year. Seems he's finally been able to put it all together consistently.

Marcus is a clear "hit" in my humble opinion. A true power forward, willing to drop the gloves, skate hard, show talent along the boards and chip in for 10-15goals, 25-35 pos per yr is a HIT for a 4th rounder

I consider him a hit, I didn't go that far back in the draft

the year after the sabres drafted him, he was one of the most improved players in the OHL

101 points in 295 games and the sabres have been a mess most of this time

I am fine with him

I wouldn't mind them parking his a$$ in front of the net on the second pp unit

I agree. It seems that a lot of people around here had/have an issue with him. They say he gets a pass because of his name, but I kind of feel like their expectations of what he can/should do are skewed because of his name.

He's had his struggles, but I think that's mostly because of all the turmoil and changes around the team since he came into it. His game has been very consistent all year. And he's a pain in the ass for the other team. Seems to have finally found his niche.

Agree. Solid 4th rounder hit. Really started coming on strong at the end of the year. One of his best attributes is he's really difficult to take off the puck. When we're lagging in momentum sometimes he'll just work the puck on the boards just to piss everyone off. Hopefully his contracts retain value for us going forward.

And he can fight if needed, but he's not a punk. And he can dish a nice assist AND score. Hopefully we will see him hoist a cup in a Buffalo sweater. I would hate to see him let go to somewhere list Boston and be a pain in our asses.

IM not sure if I do or not. TO me hit is 2nd line player or above.
Foligno is a 3rd line- 4th line player. Every team "Hits on those"

I don't consider it a hit or miss i guess, just a good draft pick.

There was an episode of Blue and Gold that featured him. He said he doesn't want to go anywhere else (I know, a lot of guys say that). But in this case, I feel like he's being honest.

If they can keep him on a cap friendly deal and he plays the way he has this year, I have no problem keeping him around for at least the next few years.

the biggest problem with him is going to be can we get a reasonable contract for him.. becuase of his name and local appeal i feel like he is going to over value himself in buffalo on a contract.

Him with Larsson and Gionta is a line that every team would want as their 3rd line. Lets keep that together for the rest of the season.
