I don't get why everybody is so over protective over anyone saying anything negative about Sam Reinhart. Up to this point there are a handful of players drafted after him that are outperforming him. Things can still change in the future but right now he isn't the top forward from his class.

I'm off to bed.

Not my 2nd overall pick

edit: for the record Reinhart was who I wanted at #1 or #2

- chilliard77

Seriously. He looks like a pretty average top 6 player.

A positive look at it is that we have a top six player on the cheap.

Love seeing this kid really put it all together this season. Seems he typically needs some time to adjust. I believe Baker had something about him at the end of last season that mentioned while he had a quiet offensive year, his game really progressed throughout the season and to keep an eye on him this year. Seems he was right as of right now.

Still really want to see him on Eichel's wing.

He was all over the ice last night. He will be called up real soon imo.

At this point, I'd send Carrier back down and bring Baptiste up to see if he can put some pucks in the net. Carrier's game hasn't been bad, but he's not scoring. Let's see if someone else can.

Best thing for the team regarding a slow and steady development of Reinhart into a top quality forward would be the cap implications it would have, meaning not needing to sign him to big dollars for a long time.

Speaking of slow(ed) development, what the heck is going on with Larkin this year?

His numbers are not good.

Seems he has the same sophomore slump as Sam does.

He's 90% the same player as last year. I see a little bit more confidence in his play.

It's only "best" if you don't plan on contending for a championship any time soon. They need him to be much better than average, and fast, if they plan on being a contender.

Side note: was stuck on the runway from 6pm to 11pm at the Buffalo airport last night. Plane needed to be de-iced twice and refueled once. That snowstorm sucked.

Not to me he doesn't. Anyone who tracks puck possession stats should be able to see he constantly makes the right play to keep the puck alive, just like ROR. Now that he is back with ROR, both of them are only going to get better. Cut from the same mold. O'Reilly practices 4 lyfe.

I know what you're thinking and the answer is yes. Yes it does feel good knowing I'm the only Sabres fan who accurately projected the Sabres are better with ROR and Sam playing together than Eichel and Sam and I've been saying it for years folks.

Should get better as the games turn into wins . Have a good stretch of confidence builders coming up as long as they win and no more injuries.

I took another look at the schedule. I'm liking your December prediction.

Sure, and your average top 6 player will do the same. Possession is important, but as a top pick, it needs to be more.

I think because we have been bad for so long, we have forgotten what a really good player looks like. Reinhart right now is 150th in the NHL in scoring. He's just a guy right now

For the first 21 games, sure. But Eichel has done a damn good job reminding us.

Feels so good to have him back in the lineup.

He's done nothing but make them pay attention to him since training camp and he just seems to keep getting better. We really need more finishers on this team. If he can come in and be one, awesome. Bring it on.

Doesn't go well for our "scout" general manager

But like you said 25 overall

- GERBE!!!75PTS

i know our "scout" GM like you call him is so bad that since he didn't pick Pasternak 23 other teams thought he was a terrible choice too..

The Sabres are in desperate need of hitting on someone in the later rounds of the draft. Would be nice if Baptiste can be a guy like Conor Sheary. Getting tired of the Bruins and Pens found money picks. Marchand, Pastranak, Sheary, Rust.
