This is the same game the Sabres have been playing all season, they just actually buried their chances in this one. They should've scored at least 4 goals against the Caps on Friday, they just couldn't buy a goal. Open nets, posts, nothing was going in. Tonight it did.

Everyone poops on Murray for his mistakes. What about the good stuff he has done such as sign Oko. What a great addition he has been.

Looks like another 1 goal game at hand.

This team will be more enjoyable to watch for 60 minutes of hockey once they get a coach that is capable of you know, coaching. His bread and butter is to dump the puck, leave the one guy who enters the zone stranded while the others are getting a change. That's all he is concerned about are line changes. There are times we're down 2-3 goals with only 6 minutes left, someone gets the puck into the zone only to look around and find he's alone b/c the others are changing. "We may be losing by three, but at least we won't have tired guys out there" must be the mantra. Dump and chase only works if you're guys are willing to get down into the zone first and it also can't be done too well when one guy is trying to get past three opponents for the puck.

I'll never understand why, when Babcock went to TOR, Murray panicked the way he did and brought in Bylsma. The guy was gifted a Stanley cup team 2/3 through the season and won the cup sure, which he deserves some credit for, but every year that followed was absolute disappointment. He got a pass for the most part, which were chalked up to injuries, but eventually, the PENS organization realized they had given him way too much benefit of the doubt and gave him the boot. He was getting the same benefit of the doubt earlier this year due to injuries, but now not so much as guys are back, but they don't look much better. He also did wonders for team USA a few years back.

Like every other sport on the planet, there are those coaches who can win with all levels of talent or those whose success is tied solely to the level talent they have. I think it's safe to say that his talent carried him to that cup and I don't see that changing anytime soon

Who else can be coach? That's an open debate, but honestly I'll take anyone who A. learns from his mistakes and does not keep repeating them and B. is willing to change things up a bit when game plans are not working, neither of which seems to enter Bylsma's mind evidently. I'd also like to see a little emotion from a coach, it tends to fuel your players, but whatever.

Oh well, I'm out, gotta watch the last two periods later tonight, so hopefully things change a bit, but we'll see.........

Doing better than 4 of the other 7 teams in the Atlantic over the last 10 games.

IMPOSSIBLE to leapfrog over teams with only 54 game left in the season.

Play Reinhart with ROR and all of your wildest dreams will come true. You're welcome HB! Secondary assists rule. Did Risto get credited with an assist on Cartsie's 1st goal?

I love when people say they want to see emotion from a coach, because they see a 5 second snippet of a coach on the bench 3 or 4 times a game and a press conference before or after a game like they're supposed to go all Denny Green or Jim Mora in the presser. They never see a coach in the locker room, and 98% of the time they don't see him on the bench during a game. Yet they can come to the conclusion they're emotionless.

Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible for us now. We have 0 chance at the wild card, and would need to gain 7 points on Boston or Ottawa over the course of the year. If Bos or Ottawa were looking like a team that's shaky I'd say it's possible. Both keep winning though. It would take a pretty big winning streak + losing streak to put us in position.

I try to find humor in the simple things in life. Such as the irony how most want a coach similar to Rex Ryan's style behind the sabres bench, and someone in the mold of Dan Blsyma on the sideline for the Bills.

Winning on an equal pace as Buffalo in their last 10, meanwhile Buffalo is 4-3 since their "superstar" has returned to the team. You think there's no way Buffalo can make up the 6 points they're behind Boston - who has 2 games in hand currently, so let's call it 4 points by assuming Buffalo gets 2 points in their next 2 games as a low-bar??

No, I don't. We aren't that good yet. That's a pretty steep hill to climb, games in hand or not.

Off topic, but I watched a few episodes of that Amazon show about the Arizona Cardinals. Bruce Arians is a funny mother(frank)er, mostly because he uses that word a lot.

That is an extremely pessimistic viewpoint. They still have 54 games to go. Plus they have 2 games in hand on Boston whom they are 6 points behind.

The Atlantic is weak this year. Montreal (and I assume Tampa) are in for sure. Beyond that, any of the remaining teams could end up in 3rd, including the Sabres. Let's see how they are playing after a few games with their regular line-up in place (including Bogo).

They aren't 4th just fighting with Boston and Ottawa though, they are also fighting with Tampa and Florida, both who are ahead.

It's possible, but we'd have to go on a run of winning just about every division game possible. Those are 4 point games
