no need Marky can take it , Demko gets a feel for the pros and the team, this happens with teams all the time , i don't get why its a big concern on these boards

I'm holding out hope that maybe the rule will get changed again or rescinded if one side (the players, presumably) opts out of the CBA at their next opportunity - September of 2019. That's not so far away anymore. Can Loo play at least two more seasons after this one?

Also, Luongo's career could end due to injury. If he goes on LTIR, the recapture is a non-issue.

I believe Lou owes the Canucks for getting what he wanted so if he's going to sit at home he'll have one of those lower body injuries listed and everyone will look the other way.

Flyers should have been held to that cap hit with Pronger .

Is that the same Canucks that made him sit on the bench on national TV while a rookie played in the heritage game, or the same Luongo who thought his contract stunk and couldn't wait to get out of here?

Well said - I don't think he owes the Canuck's any favors.

Wow...I just saw Luongo's cap recapture on twitter, that'd be a punch in the threat to get stung with that. I'm sure Booner has thrown one of those

Not sure if they could actually enforce this in a court of law but it'll be interesting when these guys retire early from one of these deals.

What a goalie gong show we use to have here. That insane contract and then they way Lu was handled by the coaches. Then the public trade demand... followed by the other goalie being traded... this is why I laugh about what the media today calls goaltender controversy in Van.

It's about time that one of the Goalies gets a groove going. Goalies need rhythm. I would like to see Gaunce sit over Megna.
- manvanfan

That might happen with Guance because of Chaput and Sutter going back to center with Hansen return. Have a feeling if vets like Skille, Chaput and Megna keep up their play Canucks send Gaunce down for more development with JV. Labate has been sitting for insurance like Pedan. Now Demko. If too many young guys not playing won't be good for development. Well it helped Tree being around club but he's a special case. At some point these young guys will need game time.

3 hours till game time. Regulation win tonight and Van could move up a max 5 spots in the league with help.

Tree had come from playing with other men. I'd prefer the kids playing in the AHL then not at all. I wouldn't mind if Gaunce went back down. I don't really like Skille but I think right now he's playing better then Gaunce is.

It would be nice to put up back to back wins more often then win lose win lose. Tonight is the first night that the next 14 games will decide the season.
Florida
Washington
Carolina
Tampa Bay
Columbus
Winnipeg
Winnipeg
Calgary
Los Angeles
Anaheim
Edmonton
Colorado
Arizona
Calgary
Need to pick up 18 out of 28 points or season is over.

I think time is catching up with Miller. All his phantom muscle tightness sounds like the body giving him grief.

Sounding more and more like Demko ain't going to get a start
- Whiskey-Tango

The funny thing is, people have been complaining that Markstrom hasn't gotten enough starts so far. Now that he has the chance to carry the load, people want him to warm the bench for Demko.

It would be fun to see Demko play, but Markstrom just signed an extension for starter money. He needs to show that he's worthy before we pass the torch. Now he gets a shot.

This is huge, as far as what happens with Miller at the TDL and what the succession plan is for the next couple of years.

No need to worry. Demko will start a couple of games in Vancouver, eventually. (Maybe even more than "a couple.")

Maybe but he was really busy in that game - could happen to a goalie of any age.
