I think Hakstol did that to reward Neuvirth for his excellent play in the playoff series against the Capitals. I understand it somewhat. Mason has allowed some soft goals this year, but his numbers are down (save %, GAA) mostly due to being hung out to dry. During the current winning streak I think the only game he didn't play exceedingly well in was the game against Edmonton.

I have to wonder if the org. was not positive on what to do with both goalies next season. Now, I think if you had to pick one for next year to lead them forward, the choice is clear.

Voracek now tied with Tarasenko for 2nd in points. But yeah, he's not elite

Didn't see Ghost at all at the end of the game. I know he hurt his hand earlier. Any updates?
- Flyers1218

@DStrehleTFP
Ghost says his hand was x-rayed in between periods: "We're all good. Just precautionary." #Flyers

And he played five shifts in the 3rd. But he was demoted off of PP1.

Boyd Gordon still blows haha. Both goals were his man and his fault, and he looked so slow. Good to see Leier get zero chance to prove himself.

Being paired with Provorov might have something to do with it. The pairing coincides directly with his "hot streak".

Nah, MacDonald plays well, its due to his partner.

MacDonald's partner struggles, its MacDonalds fault.

Working sadly.

I actually like his system but the obsession with some of the scrubs is weird. Varsity is aight. Hell, much better than Stevens and Berube.

Nice to see Schenn get some goals today, one of his hot streak stretches would be a great thing.

I can only imagine if Taylor Leier or Travis Konecny blew 2 coverages to allow 2 goals. First game back doesn't excuse mental mistakes. Thing is, he allowed goals at an alarming rate before the injury. He's been on-ice for (if my maths are corrects) 5 PK goals against out of the 17 allowed this year. He's only played 9 games. His suppression numbers are equally horrific. He's been outscored at 5v5 1 goal for to 6 against. He just is not an NHL level player anymore.

And if this isn't bad enough, he looks like a pirate. This is the worst offense of all.

It was the most Brayden Schenn hat trick ever too. 3 garbage grundler PP redirect/rebound goals on 4 shots. Hopefully it helps his confidence.

I don't know if it's true, but it feels like the last couple years he gets a staggering number of his PP goals late in games. 6v5 he's money too lol.

Konecny has been struggling in his play away from the puck and his coverages for most of the season.

You claim to be well versed in analytics, but aren't considering sample size.

So do I. MacDonald has had his struggles but has always been capable. He's a better player than given credit for.
