He probably should if he keeps running to the media to have a cry about it.

I'm sure Manning did poop talk him and maybe even did claim responsibility for injuring him. That doesn't mean he caused him to catch an edge last year. poop talking happens all the time, it only rarely causes one party to run tattle to the media.

- belcherbd

Manning had a huge part in the severity of the injury and was certainly partly at fault. But there was no intent imo.

You can put a negative spin on his words all you want, but Connor was asked a question and he replied truthfully and fairly calmly. If somewhat frustrated though.

Why would We rather the canned responses we hear everyday?

End of the day, it's so not a big deal. But I find it interesting how eager the masses are to jump on the first sign of a chink in Mcdavids armour.
He's been nothing short of generational and hype worthy one the ice, so we'll settle for some teenage frustration in a post game reply

You'll have to pay a premium for that. Extra grip strength, more endurance and a wider range of motion. A lot goes into these things, man.

Maybe watch the play again and look at Manning tugging and twisting on McDavid from behind after he blows by him.

I wonder if Matt Henderson could share the audio recording he has of what was said on the ice last night? I know its much easier to hide behind a keyboard and call someone a coward.

Short of the injury what was the difference between McDavid making a tough defensive backcheck on Provorov which caused him to lose an edge then crash into the boards and what Manning did to McDavid last year? No difference but I get that homer glasses change everything.

For me personally I dont want to see McDavid fighting anyone, it doesnt do the Oilers or the game any good to have one of the top players in the world out for weeks with a broken hand or something. Additionally Lucic can go with anyone so hopefully next game they deal with it the way Simmonds handled the Rangers drama last year...

Start of the game, settle up and move on.

yes your right Simmons handled it by having his face used as a punching bag

Nobody talks to McJesus like that! it's called trash talk. Get used to it Connor, because you've got a lot more trash talk coming your way after those post-game comments. Cindy Crosbaby 2.0

Never said it was a bad idea to write about, simply that he let his emotions around the situation influence his writing a lot more than usual and- as evidenced by the fans in this blog that belong to neither team involved- that makes him look like a homer.

Being a fan and reacting to slights against your team and players happens, but that doesn't make it any less sensitive. He's taking a situation that can easily be looked at more rationally and approaching it with a whole lot of bias. Not completely unfounded bias but bias nonetheless.

He has a hand on his hip and then it looks like Manning put a big of pressure on it as mcdavid shoots.

Injury was caused by McDavid fantastic speed and bit of bad luck.

In terms of personality and temperament I see a lot more of Toews in McDavid than Crosby. But go on...

He's certainly a generational player and deserves the hype but I would be making the same comment if another player was doing the crying.

You made a comment that of course McDavid won't be fighting a plug, that Lucic or others will be doing that. All I'm saying is if you are going to have a pout in public and call out a player, you better be willing to defend your words yourself regardless of how good of a player you are.
