Have Connie McDavid put the big girl panties on and just play. Who cares what Manning said to him as anyone with half a brain that saw the play knows it wasn't intentional. Did Connie not tun his skate and catch an edge as Manning engaged him? It was an accident.

Then her post game rant about what was said on the ice is just bush league stuff. Suck it up sweet heart and play.

Talented player and I like watching him play. He needs to grow up a little. Reminds me when Cindy Crosby started into the league

Hard to contest. Well-rested Wild team at home playing in front of one of the hottest goalies in the league while the offense is starting to gel in their new system against a weaker defensive team on their 8th game in 13 days, on the second half of a back-to-back in which they traveled across more than half the country for overnight.

Nope. Not tonight brother Maxbone. Wildschwein is pissed and the Oilers are gonna (frank) the Wild up.

You have to stop with the Taylor Hall stuff bud, it's long over. Not only that, I was at the NJ Habs game last night and Hall was...Hall. He skated very impressively up the wing, he lost the puck 2 out of 5 times, he pouted, he drove the play a few times, he tried to bring the puck out of the zone himself instead of head-manning it. All in all he was impressive, but nothing spectacular at all.

I would say that if Taylor Hall played with NJ and Larsson with Edmonton from the get-go, you would laugh at the suggestion of trading our "franchise" defenseman for an over-rated winger that plays for himself, etc. etc.

Seriously ask yourself if this trade was available right now, Hall for Larsson straight up again...would you do it? I'm not so sure. (probably would because of Hall's raw talent, but it's not 100%).

Zajac is probably playing better than Hall right now and I wouldn't trade Larsson for him.

He's over a ppg right now. That's like tied for 5th in the league

He was top ten in scoring twice before the age of 22. And has an 80 point season under his belt.

The guy isn't overrated. He's way underrated. An elite player.

Larsson is a good solid top 4 dman. I think he's got room to grow more too.

But pure value- we got blown out of the water in that trade.

However, Team needs, intangibles, the urgency to turn things around, assuming larsson AND lucic as a factor etc etc, makes the deal much closer.

Still, I don't think I make that trade then or today

I don't know if anything else was out there at all, so I won't speculate. but it's a loss for chiarelli.
THe reinhart deal is a pretty big loss as of today as well.

But he's made some good moves too.
the yaks trade was neither good nor bad in the least. Just needed to happen

Upon further reflection, I do think it was a misstep by Connor.

But it's too bad that those desperate for something negative to say about him will hanging their hats in this one for ages. he's been nothing short of a classy, humble, self effacing guy in every interview. I think he's been a good leader this far (at face value of course)
But none of that will matter much anymore to far too many people

- HB77

True, I think thats why it's such a "big deal" right now cause it's an out of character move based on how he's been so far. People will rag on this for a while but not much anyone can do about that, there's always something to hate on for any star player. Greztky was always being called a whiner but in the long run nobody talks about that

The problem doesn't stem from the idea of acquiring Larsson, but rather from how to acquire Larsson. Larsson as a defender was and is what we need.

I still think, that to this day, a better deal could have been made. Chia rushed that deal. I don't care about how he said we were in talks long, long ago. Blah, blah, blah.

Considering at that point we had the 4th rounder, we were either getting Tkachuk or Pulj.

Packaging ebs, Davidson, and Pouliot in exchange for Larsson would have been the better deal for both teams. NJ gains a lot offensively and defensively, Davidson would be given at least a top 4 role that he so deserves, which in turn would help out stabilize the defense after Larsson's departure. Imagine an Edmonton team with Hall, McDavid, Larsson, Klefbom, Pulj, RNH, and LD. Trading Pouliot would also have encouraged Chia to try to acquire Lucic. Now imagine that.

NJ would only gain what, 3-4 mill in cap? Most of their major players are signed as I recall and they have cap room.

Before you go and say, oh look here, hindsight 20/20. No it's not, Chia did mess up on how he tried to acquire Larsson. He rushed it and he overpaid.

Also, when NJ's GM or whoever else said it was going to cost Hall or nothing, I don't buy it one bit. It is just a way for them to calm the storm.

Nonetheless, all of this bashing against Larsson is ridiculous. If playing 20+ minutes nearly every game and doing a damn good job (like he has been this entire season and as seen in the last game against Philly) at it doesn't equate to top 2 status, I don't know what does. Larsson ISN'T going to be that guy that will play nearly 30 minutes a game and that's okay. He does, however, have the chops to be a solid #2 defender and he will be getting better at it as time goes by.

None of us were going happy about a possible Hall departure unless it was for an elite defender like Subban, Weber, Karlsson, etc. But that, alone is a nearly impossible outlook, especially in today's nhl.

Poor Connor he's upset seriously of course manning said he did it on purpose even though he probably didn't. Should have been left on the ice and honestly this is pretty stupid to even be news. All these guys talk poop out there to try and get an advantage. On a hockey note I'm pissed you guys didn't beat Philly I hate those guys even though yuenglingjagr is a funny cat. Hopefully you beat the wild and roll on I'm hoping you guys do really well this year you've suffered enough
