It's his speed and being able to do the poop he does at that speed. Also how quick he can get a step on a player. Like last night when he broke that check along the boards being tied up by 2 players, then coming out with a puck and getting it to Letestu and setting up a goal. Who the (frank) does that?????

I know where all Matt's anger comes from.....Brandon Manning would rank third in Oilers defensive scoring this year ahead of future Hall of farmer Adam Larsson!!! funny thing is the oilers wouldnt of had to give up Taylor Hall to get him ..... McJesus will have to learn to better handle situations like this and let the situations play out on the ice. The oilers had every opportunity to settle the situation last night and didn't. It doesn't count chirping off to reporters after you lose the game.

Oh, I think McDavid is clearly the heir apparent to Crosby. He may win the Art Ross, but Crosby has had years to work on his all-around game, which I expect McDavid to do over time.

Something of note: My wife's from Pittsburgh, so we wacthed a lot of Crosby's early years. In each game when he was young, he'd do about one thing per game where my jaw just dropped. He did things I've never seen before. Now, he's simply the best player in the game, but he doesn't do it with dazzle, he simply is the best fundamental player in the game. I'm curious to see how McDavid proceeds as he ages with respect to this.

Aside from that draft being rigged so the NHL could save the Penguins, Crosby has been unreal since he played his first game. What amazes me is that he is so skilled, and yet spends so much time working on his game. Lots of players before him have had amazing skill, been gifted and blessed, but did little work to ensure they maintained that.

connor's not weak defensively by any stretch. and his take away ability is datsyukian.

but agreed that all around and fundamentally sid is in another class.
because it takes time to develop that kind of understanding of the game and to correlate it with a generational skill set. basically producing sids fairly flawless game.
