So only a goaltender shouldn't be allowed to defend himself on the ice?? Blocker or not, if players are willing to go to the blue paint, they better be ready.

That reckless loser Kreider took a year from his career and he should just sit back and lets these dummies crash him??

Sound logic pal!!

Any player worth his salt will defend himself under these circumstances. You act like he went after Palmieri with an axe??

I was surprised to see Price doing what he did. Players have been running him lately and it seems it's just the other teams' game plan. He had enough, and he wanted to pass the message...even to his teammates.

Poor Palmieri...I just think he was the last straw and he just paid for the others.

Also, good thing Billy Smith isn't playing in today's NHL

Interesting point.

As a team, the Habs let their opponents take too many liberties without any form of retaliation.

To be honest, I was just relieved to see him get up and didn't really cared about the rest. I get nervous every time I see him get knocked down by a player.

Seems that it got his team fired up. They spent a lot of time in the offensive zone controlling the play last night. That was a great team effort.

Great...Seriously, I watched and watched the replay...Palmieri was barely touched, it's just too easy now...fall flat on your ass and go skates first in the goalie. (frank) that turd.

...and don't give me that "blocker shots hurt" crap...Maybe the first one, the rest were WWE chops. Palmieri was skating around all dandy the rest of the game.

I agree with this. Looks like he fell because he lost his edge turning too sharp trying to avoid price rather than be pushed into price.

The thing is he shouldn't have put himself in that situation.

Like Price said. It's how the game is played, but he should have found a way to miss the net and not go skate first into Prices knee.

I watched a highlight from a goal last night. The guy scored but them rammed the goalie. Yes the goal should have counted, but he should have also recieved a 2 for goalie interference. Same with NJs first goal. OK, goal counts, but still rammed Price.

Even if the play is dead, a guy who gets elbowed in the head after the play was offside, doesn't mean it's not punishable..

You guys all lose your marbles every time one of your dmen pushes another player into Price. Now Price is in on the stupidity too. I'm not gonna say he should be suspended, like some, cause that's going too far. But blocker punches are, straight outta the rule book, supposed to get you booted from the game. He should have gotten booted.

Meh, I don't think Price was hit any harder than Petry hit Palmieri.

If you want to run Price as a strategy to score or to injured him, then expect consequences. I'm glad he did what he did.

Sure.

And if your dmen are going to continually push and trip guys up as they're skating towards the net, then you're going to have to deal with those.

now the refs are aware that what price did should warrant a match penalty, why not get in his space and see if he'll lose his mind again?

edit: and would any player worry about price's retaliation since apparently he only tickled him

Very true. I bet the office sent something to the refs "reminder - blocker punches to the head are a match penalty".....

It's now open season on Price.

I saw some claims of "why would it be a penalty, he missed". LOL

First, I hate you very much.

Second, players were already taking runs at him, so why not react that way?

Third, lol at the Leafs season.

Yeah, that plan has been working just fine in the last few years.
