You didn't need to bring this over to the next blog. I'm sure he'd look for a response in the last one...

I did & I have responded - be nice if jboyd could count or use statistics that actually support his numerical opinion.

Generally peak between ages 23-25 and hit a steep decline around 28.

Generally speaking Matt Culldog begs to differ (& I haven't even mentioned any of the general over 30's that are producing effectively ).

Mate get off the calculator & PC & watch a game & form an opinion without someone else telling you how a player played!

At 5v5 this season MAF sees more Shots, Low Danger Shots, Medium Danger Shots, and High Danger Shots (all per 60) than Murray.
- Feds91Stammer

So? What does that prove? How many 'low danger' shots turn into goals? How many high danger shots?

How were they compatible to crease coverage, movement & general positioning? How many were screened & how many weren't?

Just asking?

Yeah, and Crosby is currently pushing 30. And at this moment I believe he's getting better, not falling off a cliff.

I could care less about their definition of low/medium /high danger shots. I've seen 60' shots that were treacherous and I've seen doorstep shots that were a can of corn.

The stat I want to see is odd-man breaks against. But that would require the mathestaticians to watch games, and that's not a stat that can be pulled from play by play spreadsheets.

"Player start a steap decline at age 28." You're so right look as Crosby he is 29 and having the best season of his hall of fame career. Some people shouldn't read other people's bs opinions and pass them off as their own. Why not go some place people like you Feds?

So Mcdavid really looks like a douche right about now. Imagine if Crosby would whine to the media like that when he was 19. Would have been eaten alive. With the fancy stat crowd officially turning hockey into something soccer moms discuss at bake sales Manning will probably be kicked out of the league. Funny thing is Mcdavid clearly catches an edge when he broke his collar bone. I remember hockey and when it started to die.

I know I did. I usually tried to get people to take a penalty in front of the ref. Like get them in a heaadlock when no one is looking then skate away over in front of the ref. Guy takes a swing at me and sits in the box. Worked well but could only pull it out occasionally. I mean, unless someone is being a total D*ick. Then all bets are off. Especially if they hit from behind or do a hard nutcracker between the legs.

Sid said that players should have to fight his teammates in the media because he tripped and fell into the boards? I don't remember Sid ever calling out a single opponent like that. Sure he has said so and so "battles hard" and "plays that kind of game" and stuff like that. Difference between being a hockey super star and a sports star that plays hockey. Thats NFL bs right there.

He's hyper competitive. I'd say he's the most competitive player in any sport I've seen play in Pittsburgh. That's really saying something. I wasn't a fan of the whining, but I knew he'd settle down as he got older.

Crosby is a (frank)ing superstar, future hall of famer. Those are called "outliers" players that buck the norm. Using Crosby to counter argue data that relates to the general population of hockey players is a pretty piss poor argument.
