With the idea of having Tanev available, I wonder what other teams think of him or if they counter with interest in another dman?

I think JB is gun shy with all the scrutiny in this market. People are still pissed about the Guddy deal and of course that infamous 2nd rounder.

It is comical how bad people react to snow on the island. The problem is that half the people don't actually prepare properly with snow tires. I am sure we won't get half as much as what they are predicating anyway, it hasn't snowed a good snow on the island in years

I have snow tires on, the wife wants to go buy bottled water... thinking she wants storm of the century prep.

Yeah, she was telling me driving around last couple weeks has been treacherous not because of the weather, but because of all the people horribly prepared with terrible tires and no winter driving skills

In all fairness it has been quite icy.

haha yah I have snow tires on too. I am not sure we should expect what we had in 1996 or anything lol. I would honestly be surprised if we had more than a few cm's by morning.

they should wait until they are allowed to negotiate with Gudbranson to see what he is demanding to determine which dman to move. I wanted JB to bring in some grit on d but with Tryamkin looking steady, he might be able to provide enough physicality that we could move Guddy.

I'm not sure how that would look, moving Guddy, but if it was a good return, it should be considered.

The year before the Olympics in Vancouver, there was enough snow that many abandoned their cars right on the street. and then weren't in a rush to go get them when it stopped snowing. Traffic was nuts.

sh1t, didn't mean to flag you.

anyway, I think Tanev would be attractive with his contract setup too.

I just wonder if some gm's would want a smaller deal (contract $) and ask for Tryamkin, Hutton or Stecher? Makes me wonder what some offers would look like.

- hillbillydeluxe

I think it's too early for teams to call for Tree or Stecher. JB's not giving them up for the small amount they're worth right now, and other teams probably don't want to overpay and gamble on them not turning out. I could see teams calling for Hutton, but I don't think he's going anywhere

When I get banned I'll blame you

I think they should move Gudbranson if they can't sign him to a relatively low cap hit. He looks like he is going to be a bottom pairing Dman moving forward if they have Tanev/Stecher on the right side.

Who knows what comes up in negotiations? Maybe I'm nuts thinking there might be some interest but with cap hits and if a team is interested in a dman because on of their higher paid dmen is injured, they might want a cheap fill in as much as an upgrade.

No reason to get banned.

My thoughts exactly. Especially with tryamkins ability to play both sides.

it will be funny if that is how it turns out, not really Guddy's fault and he could be 2nd pairing on another team.

well. Weather Canada has predicted 10-20 cms of Snow for Vancouver Island. The city has gone into a complete panic and will probably shut down after 3cm. It will most likely turn to slush with all of the rain by sunrise.

I'm saying for me the fact that he appears to be fragile is what helps me come around to the idea of trading him.

I'm a big fan of Tanev, he's a good age, good value, etc. But if he's missing a lot of games every year then we can't be relying on him in our top pairing. If we had 2 Dmen capable of playing above him I would probably want to keep him but as I see it we need more young players and picks, and he can bring in more than anyone else on the roster.

- NorthNuck

He has missed 62 games over the last 5 seasons. Not great necessarily but is that injury prone?

Gudbranson has missed 59 over that same time frame for reference.

You might be nuts I think Tryamkin is probably attracting attention from every team we play against, just based on the fact that he's that big and still quite mobile. Either way, I think it'd be a big mistake to move one of the 3 young dmen now, their value is gonna increase exponentially over the next couple years if they continue to develop.

Gudbranson is called upon to play the type of game where you're gonna take injuries every so often. My worry with Tanev isn't in the immediate, it's more that I think he'll take more and more injuries over the next several years. The punishment he's had to take in the Pacific division playing hard minutes isn't going to stop anytime soon.

Yeah, would be interesting to know what their value is today. If we hear that JB is shopping any of them around though everyone would think he's crazy
