Pens up 3-0 in the first period. That is weird. |

Sheary is currently on a 22 goal pace despite getting very little power play time and despite missing 7 games. - hardnosed
Did you see how he scored his goal in this game? I know you make your own breaks and he was where he was supposed to be on the play (kudos for that), but he flubbed the slam dunk, got a lucky bounce off the boards and the goalie kicked it into his own net. I'm torn on Sheary, but willing to ride it out a little longer. I was hoping for what appears to be a true sniper in Guentzel, but Sheary seems to be succeeding in the role of Crosby's LW. I do think Crosby benefits from having a speedy winger. |

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder how they'll handle it. Maybe they'll still have to "turn it on" in the 3rd, but to prevent a comeback instead of sparking a rally. |

Without question he benefits from a speedy winger, but I don't think he's a natural goal scorer. 6 each for Hornie and Sheary. I'm sorry, but that's not good enough when playing with the best player in the world. Just sayin... |

A couple more goals and they will pass the official attendance. - Thunderbolt
I figured their attendance would go up now that Dwight D. Eisenhour is their head coach. |

Sheary has more good qualities than bad. He can frustrating at times but he is a hard worker. Back in the day when I grew up he would have been called a scrapper. Someone who seems to play better than his skills would allow. |

Sprong is the only real true sniper on the way up. Jakey just has hockey sense and winners drive, he seems to be a pretty intelligent kid. Sprong is going to be a beast. I can tell just by watching that footage of him blasting shots last week. |

Time and again it's been proven that Sid doesn't play his best with natural goal scorers.
He plays his best with talented grinders like him.
Playing lights out with Bergeron and Marchand after only being so-so with true star wingers in past international events is just another piece of evidence. |

I agree with this for the most part. I think Horny does enough other things besides scoring goals to justify his role on the top line. Sheary has missed a number of games, too. |

Never ever ever ever EVER argue with someone from Florida about hockey, that state has that $hit locked down. - Dcoms
Funny, because I'm from Pittsburgh, lived there for 24 years before moving down here in 2010. |

Right on cue, the refs are officiating according to the score and not what is occurring on the ice. |

Hornqvist has been the unluckiest player since the season started based on 5v5 ixG

Never ever ever EVER argue with someone from Pennsylvania about hockey because that state has that $hit locked down?? Especially when that person is James Tanner, err I mean Jebidiah Boyd, err I mean a Pug in a ballcap that used to live in Pittsburgh but now lives in that hockey Mecca Tampa bay? Just because he's never been in the same room as a pair of ice skates doesn't mean............ um.........anything......?....... |

Hossa and Marchard are talented grinders like Crosby. Not dangling sniping floaters, guys who are going to outwork the other team while also possessing enough skill and good enough hands to make the most out of that effort.
Both a step up in skill from Sheary/Kunitz/Dupuis/Hornqvist, of course.

Meh... He never really gets an extended look with any "star" wingers. I take nothing out of short tournaments. The time he got with Kessel they both kept deferring...plus, it was under that shipwreck HCMJ. It takes time for for players to jell. 30 games or more. Especially with Crosby because he thinks the game at a different level.
