Toronto is tied with us and buffalo Carolina are a point ahead and we have 1 game in hand and fla and det are 3 and 4 points ahead and we have 2 games in hand NJ and wash are even in games and 5 and 8 points up and Philly is 8 points ahead but isles have 3 games in hand. So win those games in hand they are tied or ahead of all but NJ and caps Philly and 1 point back of tampa in other words a few more wins and they are right in the mix

They will need at least 95 points to make the playoffs. Including tonight there are 57 games left. That means they will need to play at the very least .614 hockey for the rest of the season which would be 30-22. Those are the minimum numbers to get the 8th seed and most likely bounced in the first round.
