In 5 games with Eichel in the lineup Reinhart has 4 points...

66 pts pace.

I know its a small sample size but something tells me he is a 60 point player at least with Eichel

- Stripes77

Agreed, but Eichel would elevate O'Reilly or anyone for that matter over the long haul.

I think Reinhart is a fine player, just not a dynamic one where if god forbid Eichel ever went down again, he could carry the load.

I think part of the problem was even just how they used Reinhart. He had plenty of success without Eichel last year as well. But it was always on the wing. When Eichel was out this year, they had Reinhart doing a lot of different things than he did last year. Instead of being the guy in front of the net during the PP, he was on the half wall where Eichel usually is. Stuff like that.

Now that he's getting to play in the areas he found success last year, it's starting to go his way a bit more. Still really would have liked him to get that goal the other night though instead of putting it off the post.

also a big chunk of that will be assists which will continue to go up when they add a sniper. which they should do. soon.

I all seriousness I would love GMTM to go out and find a "Alex Semin"- type.....except not as lazy

Just a sniper who we expect to do nothing but get open for shots and put them in the net

I mentioned that the other day. Get snipers and let the D and goalie do their job. Screw the task of getting only complete players . Too hard to find and a sniper will score double the goals . That is where we are in need.

Sure, he will get better, but marginally IMO.

He already thinks the game like a veteran. He already has the defensive acumen of a veteran.

He isn't waking up tomorrow as an elite puck handler or as a speed skater.

As people love to point out, he's always in the right spot at the right time. I guess my question would be, where is the big improvement in his game going to come from?

He's Jordan Staal. Very good player, who hasn't gotten much better since he's been 19-20. He just is what he is.

My opinion of course

"Talent Analysis

_________ is a top-flight talent, perhaps not in the same class as a Sidney Crosby or Alex Ovechkin, but still a player you can build around. Yes, ________ is not the fastest skater on the ice; yes, his defense -- while improving -- remains passable at best. But what can't be denied is ________'s incredible hockey sense and offensive ability."

Sound like this could be written about Reinhart? It is Hockey's Future scouting report on John Tavares.

in his defense I thought once they put him at center he was starting to come around when jack came back. That might have been the best thing that happened to him this year..... I actually wish they would have made that move sooner....

Kulikov, Deslauriers, Gorges could return Friday which will inevitably send Guhle back to Juniors and remove a player from our lineup that's better than Deslauriers

Maybe the older player Murray should consider trying to get is Iginla. Avs are in dead last in the league, and he is only signed through this season. He only has 3 goals this year, but the last 3 years he has 30, 29 and 22. Would they take Ennis and a 2nd? Or maybe a bigger deal with Iginla and Duchene or Landeskog for Ennis, Kane, a prospect and a 1st?

Sure, and by the time JT was 20-21 he was a 70-80 point player.

That's the thing about top flight draft picks. They enter their prime at a young age.

Point totals at 21 years old

Tavares - 81
Stamkos - 97
Kane - 88
Hall - 50 (in 45 games)
Seguin -32 (in 48)
Toews - 68 (In 76)

then there's Jordan Staal - 49 points

Besides Seguin, none of those guys took off production wise after 21.

Sounds like the deal would have to go down while both GM's are closing time at 716

He will only go to a contender. He wants a cup, he isn't coming to Buffalo to finish his career.
