seriously there's no one to back up Markstrom otherwise. Miller as much as I am not crazy about him is still a better option than whats in the system at this stage.
and certainly MAF is more $ too than miller.
We may have to sign miller to a 1 yr, even if its only to expose him in draft which theyd have to which might save us sven

- SMBDragon

It's a non-issue at the TDL if this team is really not doing well (which I hope they are not) and we aim to tank.

Patrick Laine, what a steal that was hey.

We refer to it as dumb luck around here.

The continual mixed messages are frustrating and open them up to fair criticism. Such as the recent, "we may sign Miller next year" message from Linden.
- LeftCoaster

This I will agree with.

Don't think Benning has much of a choice do what the Aquafeenies want or git gone.
- LordHumungous

I don't know, that certainly plays into it IMO.

Yup, thats my point with the Ferraro comment. The message is muddled and people will continue to criticize. I have hoped for a while now that they actually have something of substance behind the doors but are forced to talk playoffs to appease the great Aquaman and his marketing team

There's enough on the UFA market to help him out and still finish at the bottom like we are now.

Any thoughts on signing Tyler Johnson if he were to become available this summer? I imagine Tampa will resign him but if they were having cap issues could he help our C situation?

You can't be good without some element of luck. Another few years and you guys are gonna be in the Jets rear view mirror. Chevy's drafted well and been patient, thanks for Ehlers too

Would be a good deal after expansion draft. TB looks like they will likely lose a defenseman as they should be able to protect all their best forwards(2 are contract ending and UFA so they can wait to re-sign them)
- Retinalz

Just because a player is Ufa doesn't mean they are protected. Vegas can take anyone on the roster that is not protected or meets the ineligible 2 year professional rule.

We don't like to talk about Ehlers around here. Begone! Also, were already in pretty much everyone's rear views. That's what happens when you're competitive for a decade:your core gets old. Winnipeg, unfortunately for you, refuses to spend to the cap and will not be a legit contender unless they remove that limit.

You come in here just to make a douche of yourself? We all know the Jets have lots of good young players.

He has never been the same since he hurt his wrist. Were going to find out how good he is now that Stamkos is out though. I suspect he or Palat might become available. I really like Palat, very solid two-way winger and young.

I'd be happy to have either on the team, something worth keeping an eye on.

The smart money is them finding a way to move filpulla and/or Callahan instead. Nestorov/Koekkoek, Drouin/Palat/Johnson all RFA's, something has to give!

I think they might move Bishop, Callahan, Filpulla, Kilhorn all before they let Palat and Johnson go.

Draft and Develop takes time. Too bad in this world everybody wants everything right now and doesn't know how to wait for it.
- manvanfan

I hear you. Young impact players have sprouted up amongst other teams. The lack of same has caused the call for them more. Now it depends on whether any of the young complimentary players can develop into impact ones. Like how Bo is looking now from where he was. Like you said patience.

I dthink there's maybe a deal there for a team willing to take on Hot Carle's contract buyout. I know this would be a hell of a thing for three years, but if were truly rebuilding it seems smart to use the cap to our advatage for trading with strapped team like TB

Why wast ea pick on a player that doesn't have to sign though. They take say Tyler Johnson and then July 1st he walks. What a wasted pick.

The NTC is the only thing making it hard. 25 teams should want him, only other rebuilding teams wouldn't.
- neem55

JB's recent comments about not asking to waive any seems to put trade talk to rest. Not sure if that was a message to other GM's so as to add value from position of not looking desperate. Or fans that team is still trying to win come to games. Or a combination of both? It does look more like TDL may be more quiet and off season prior to draft say that moves may be made.

Perhaps

Benning needs five years of drafting to judge his plan, I just wish he'd draft more and stop with the competitive push because it's costing picks and assets.

- LeftCoaster

Benning needs to stop trying to win games... yeah,,, not going to happen.
