Do not want. We've got our big french-canadian prospect spots filled with Nicolas Roy and Julien Gauthier, thanks. - BINGO!
No Kapanen for you.....btw, wtf happened to Elias Lindholm
In my sim league I had the 5 and 7 picks in his draft......I took Nichushkin 5th, watched Monahan go 6, and took Lindholm 7. Learned my lesson, always bet on the Canadian boy, especially when he's from my home town.
Also why I have no business making top 10 picks. |

So what's the verdict on the Hall hit last night?
I confess I only saw it in a bar last night after midnight, but it looked pretty clean to me.
Heck, it kinda looks like he pulled up and tried not to murder him. - Atomic Wedgie
Most Vancouver fans agree that it was a clean hit with an unfortunate outcome. That should tell you everything. |

No suspension. Canucks fans strike.
Looked like primary point of contact was the head looking at the slo-mo replays but the only way Hall could have changed that was by assuming the cannonball position. |

How bad must Cowan be if a team like the Leafs that need a big defenseman badly won't even give him a sniff? |

He's fine.
He's bit by the same thing everybody else on the team is right now. Creating a lot of offense but nothing going in.
He always was drafted more for being a defense-first guy, and his PK work is exceptional, but he's gotta be more assertive with the puck. Should see him start to pick up some points again soon. |

I'm kind of like the CEO of angry Leafs trade talk.
I set the direction: "we need to put together a package of older guys, garbage guys, "prospects" who will never amount to anything, a guy on LTIR who we can say will help bring a poor team up to the salary cap floor, and of course a fourth round draft pick, and parlay that into a 22 year old 1st pairing defenceman. Now go make that happen!"
It's then up to peons like you to actually come up with names. - Atomic Wedgie

I think they already know he smells like the rear end of the animal that he most resembles |

I’m starting to get over trading for a goalie from another California team.

I just wish those glimpses he has shown, where he dominates, were more frequent. He's still young, and eats a lot of minutes, but I thought for sure he would be doing what Forsberg is doing in Nashville by now. |

Depends what we would give up for him. I prefer Kasperi over him right now. |

I mean, when you draft 5th overall you're probably looking for more than a 35-40 point shutdown C/RW, but if that's what you wind up with, you kind of have to let him be that guy instead of forcing him to try to be more or you'll get nothing, you know? |

Looks to me like he's probably going to top out as a Jere Lehtinen type player. |

I was trying to add it to my 1st post...I think we were almost simultaneous. |
|
|
|
Noticed that Leafs lines for today's morning skate still has Nylander as the 4th line centre. I know that most people view this as a demotion of sorts, but I was wondering if this wasn't a bit of and attempt at shock treatment to get him back to playing his natural position where the main objective is keeping the puck out your own end.
I can't help but wonder if one of the current centres is traded in the not too distant future, he would now be in a better position to move up and fill the void as needed without missing a beat.
Or it's been a really slow week and I am reading into things way too much. |

I think this is a pretty plausible scenario.
I won’t even care if the door hits bozak on his way out.
