I think we all know that getting that type of player is going to cost a lot in trade.

I do think it will ultimately be necessary. The question is when. Now? At the trade deadline? Next summer?

if they wanna take a more patient approach, wait for Shatty in the offseason as I really dont think he will sign an ext with anyone he gets dealt to this year (if it even happens)

Then go use that 2nd from the brassard trade, maybe another pick and a guy like Fast to land a 2nd or 3rd pair guy who will force AV's hand more than the current 7D on the team have. Or, and I know people say no one is ready, call someone up and see what they got.

Rangers need to take Pirri off the powerplay to. Talk about a guy that has completely fallen off. Once the team is healthy he might be knocked out of the lineup

Pirri is streaky. He's a guy who could score 5 PP's in a row and then drop off for 10. Its a tough choice because when he is on, he might have the best shot on the team. I agree though, maybe take him off for a bunch of PP's and then try him back on it again a little later
