I wouldnt send Leier, back. Idk why he got so little ice time last night. Maybe Hak hasn't seen a lot of him recently with the tight schedule resulting in limited practice time.

Streit has not been bad all year. He's producing points at 40/50 per season pace. He is slow as molasses and I would definitely have MDZ in the line up over him but let's not over react.

I think it was just a case of it being his first NHL game in a year and the Panthers being so dominant. I'm sure Hexy didn't call him up just to play him six minutes game. His ice time will creep up, just like when Cousins got promoted last year.

If MDZ is really coming out, I'm guessing it's because Hak like Provy with Mac and he'll put Streit back with Gudas.

Amazing. No matter how bad they are at times, they avoid being scratched. VDV has played decently of late. Streit has pretty much been bad all year.

I think the VDV thing is as much you know what are you getting with players like PEB and VDV. At their best they arent going to be difference makers and at their worst they arent going to cost you the game.

Streit on the other hand... Not sure why he is in over MDZ.

Well it's pretty obvious he won't be back next year.

Looks like next year it will be Ghost, Provorov, Manning, and MacDonald.
Hopefully Sanheim, and Morin are ready next year.

flyers are currently 6th in the NHL in corsi % (tops in corsi for)...florida is actually #2.

it is less than ideal that they got outshot like they did, but I think it is more of an outlier than a trend given the personnel they used and the way they were deployed

I think it's about expectations with a player. Nothing I see from Streit surprises me this season. It's the same type of defense he was providing last season. Del Zotto on the other hand seems full of surprises both good and bad. He's making tremendous plays then the following shift a critical mistake. I myself would take the good with the bad but Hakstol seems to value consistency more than anything.

Has MDZ struggled at times? Yes. However he is still a much better all around player than slow motion Streit at this point. Just because you wear a letter on your jersey, should not make a player immune from being scratched. Sure Streit makes a few nice offensive plays and scores some points, but his defensive work is just atrocious. He needs to sit.
