Trade Neuvirth for a bag of pucks, I don't care what we get. I don't know if it's mental or not but Steve Mason clearly plays better when he knows that it's his net. Goalies are weird, don't mess up his mojo. #TradeNeuvy

Of all the Flyers, Mark Streit looked the most effected by the schedule grind and the pace of the game last night...and he has had some good defensive games of late.

I am beginning to wonder, how much better/will things be even better when Couturier gets back? He is a better 2nd center than anyone else has presented for extended times, but he isn't as quick on the first step as Schenn or Cousins. (or Laughton for that matter). He is a much more consistent defensive player than Schenn, and a bigger physical presence than Cousins...It is just a thought...I know the easy thing is to say "Oh, they will be even better when he gets back." But will they?

Really happy with how they look right now. Just hope they're not peaking too early.
- JoeRussomanno

The results have been great Joe. 6 wins in a row. But they have been outplayed a fair amount. Mason has pretty much stood on his head. Great to see him playing well again. Thing is, the winning isn't sustainable with the level of play.

Like my dad always said, dont argue with results.

A win is a win. Ill take it.

Now, a few things that bothered me about last night.

There were (at least) three separate plays where the Flyers had a fresh G line out on the ice and advancing, and Raffl simply could not get the puck in deep. That cant happen. It kills that line. They are a possession trio and need to get the puck deep and start the cycle. Instead of wearing down the Panthers d, it results in a hell of a lot of work for the Flyers forwards having to get back.

Streit. I get it, he is a leader. He has been brutal lately. Let him take a few games off as soon as Gudas is good to go. He and MDZ have both looked flat.

I understand the Flyers were playing a bend-don't-break defensive oriented game (especially the 3rd), but Hak HAS to do a better job with his ice times. I would love to see the advanced stats from last nights game, but I dont know how to find that... Mason was insane, and with out him we dont get a point. I dont buy into the fact that VDV and Bellemare were shutting guys down. Mason was just cleaning things up.

The good things.

Raffl, who has been playing really well, struggled last night for whatever reason. Don't bother looking at the shot differential. It's not pretty. Hakstol has limited options right now with both Couturier and Read out. He can't trust Schenn or Cousins to match up against top lines.

Step 1: trade Streit
Step 2: bring up Morin right after the deadline
Step 3: have AMac join Schultz in the press box
Step 4: Put Morin in

Provorov-Gudas
MDZ-Ghost
Manning-Morin

Mission accomplished

- BiggE

Streit has been worse than MacDonald.

Morin, like MDZ, can't play the right side.

Not a big surprise with three of the team's best puck possession players all out. Bellemare is not cut out to handle the ice time of a 2C or even a 3C, but I can't blame Hakstol for not being confident in Schenn and Cousins.

Zero goals and 4 assists in the last 13 games for Konecny now. The kid is awesome, but being a consistently productive teenager in the NHL is freaking hard unless you're a Laine/Marner type.

- Feanor

Konecny is not only not producing, but his decision making is not good right now, which is probably the biggest reason why his game has gone south.

Really glad to see Jake get the winning goal. He had a rough night and you could see the frustration all game.

Loved seeing Provorov get on Jagr's nerves

Yes, they will be. They had to play Bellemare 21 minutes last night.

theyve gotten outplayed in 2 of the games and outplayed the rangers in the game they lost before the streak. the win streak isnt sustainable, but the success is

They won't be better than 6-0.

Cousins quick step doesn't matter much when he's stapled to the bench while PEB gets 20 minutes. So I can say with complete confidence that the ice time distribution will be better with Coots and Read back.

He's hit a rut for sure. But Giroux is no more effective creating offense at even strength. Voracek is making everyone look better right now. This team is riding Jake, Simmer, Provorov, and Mase hard right now

Bellemare against a top line is certainly not ideal, but he's a better choice then Schenn or Cousins is. Bellemare who is a 4th line center, certainly shouldn't be playing any where near 21 minutes. The roster is limited right now. This is one of the reasons why I don't like Schenn at center, but they don't have much choice right now.

Was talking at the game last night with a gentleman wearing a McGillis jersey, We REALLY REALLY miss that style of play. The if you come at us without paying attention you are DONE style of defense. Gudas brings it but has to watch the line. Guys like McGillis barely heard from the league they knew when and how to hit someone and separate them from the puck at let their partner recover the loose puck.

Keep the roll going.

and Happy Birthday Coots!

- dragonoffrost

Loved the game Dan McGillis played. That is exactly the type of player they need. Had a great shot and played with an edge. He was very underrated .

Something about his game? fighting with the coach? I mean Taylor Leier is replacing him.

.908 is bad and below league average
- YuenglingJagr

But a .944 the last 5 games which is good and above league average (I'm guessing)

He hasn't played enough this season while Leier has been tearing it up in the AHL at ES, and on the PP and PK.

Which specific "fair amount" of games have they been outplayed during the streak? Can't be Calgary (which, by the way, Mason didn't play), Ottawa, Chicago, or Nashville. They definitely got outplayed by Boston, though. Does 2 our of 6 constitute "a fair amount?"
