This is what happens when you have someone with no experience managing assets. Im sure Snow is a great guy, and was passable with a rebuild, in that he wouldnt trade away assets. But, now, its like this is way past his area of expertise. - kindlyrick
I'll give him some credit, in that when he took over, not only were the cupboards empty, they were ripped off the walls. He has since re-stocked the cupboards with some talent. However, I think he's afraid of letting go of some of it for fear of not knowing what he's trading away. Since Crappy cannot develop talent, how can you assess how good they are? |

If only there were something that Bert could do to Ernie to fix the problem? |

Everyone of the players you've mentioned that are elite, have a winger who compliments them. Every real deal team has a 1-2 punch. JT has played with sub par guys for most of his tenure on the island. Im sorry but for 5 years Bailey was playing bottom 6 minutes and was thought of as a defensive forward. Now he's Line 1 RW?
When the isles had Vanek/JT/KO they were the hottest line in hockey for a stretch. Thats not by coincidence. You cant expect Tavares to not have top end wingers.......because then what happens is he tries to do too much, and then gives away the puck, and has fans saying he's not the same since the knee injury.
Get 91 top end wingers and watch what happens... - kindlyrick
We saw in the world Cup not that he will get 2 players of that quality but we also saw it with Vanek. |

As the longest tenured drafted forward, Bailey has stepped up his game and is filling the role KO left. Like it or not. Come January 1 they hope to be looking forward to the second half of the season. |

If you put quality with quality you get results. You can't blend Haagen-Dazs into a blender with horse poop and expect to get a great shake. |

Bailey has stepped up his game a little. Still doesn't make him an elite forward. It means that JT has forced him into scoring positions. My biggest problem with Bailey is his laziness in the D-zone. He's just a statue and gets skated around. I still think he has some game and would love to see if a better coach could get more out of him. Actually, It really wouldn't surprise me if a better coach got 50-60 points out of him. Get him in a position to play and he might blossom into something we never thought possible. |

Bailey has stepped up his game......there's no arguing that. But, then that begs the question . Where was management labeling him a secondary scoring forward for the last 7 years, and now all of a sudden (because he's the longest tenured forward), he's a first line RW? Seems to me, they threw him in that role because they had no one else. Thats not really a recipe for success. Thats kinda bushleague if you ask me. He's filler....

Lots of square pegs and round holes on this team and even if we had 6 round pegs and holes and 6 square ones cappy would still not align them correctly |

The truth is the line of Bailey/Frans/Ko was a legit second line on any team. That should have been the isles secondary scoring. JT should have had premier talent up front. |

Remember how good they were and cappy never put them back after he broke them up kinda like 18 29 and 27 now with those 2 lines and talent with jt would make a good top 3 lines |

That line got them into the playoffs against the Pens. |

And that right there is one of biggest problems with Crappy. When a line/lines click, he breaks them up. Why? What the (frank) are you doing? If it's working, then leave it alone. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel? But the PP is putrid, so we'll leave that be. It's absolutely asinine. I don't want to hear that Weight runs the PP. He's the (frank)ing head coach. You're supposed to be running the team. The inmates are running the asylum. |

JVR for Hamonic? No thanks.. Not sure why everyone is in love with JVR all the sudden. JVR is not Taylor Hall... you don't give up Hamonic for JVR. You give up Hamonic for a Hall in a minute. |

Good player, yeah. Pretty consistent 20-30 goal scorer (mostly high 20's), averaging .63 points per game, big kid, fairly team friendly (cap hit of $4.25m through next season). I'd say they're going to want something more than Hammer. Maybe a pick, maybe a prospect. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not the biggest JVR fanboy in the world, but since the Leafs were thrown out there, he's the biggest forward name there. - Isleshockeyman
Sounds like Ladd.. how's that working out? I want a Sniper.. someone who scores a goals. JVR has been rumored to be available his whole career for a reason. He is very inconsistent and I don't want him on this team. We have 2 or 3 kids not playing that I think are better than JVR. if I am giving up Hamonic I want better than JVR. Package Hamonic and MDC for better than JVR.

If JVR can be had reasonably I'll take a flyer on him but not for Hamonic or 1 of the elite prospects....
JVR is better than what we have, so its worth a risk for right price... |
