That reference shows your advanced age my friend.

At least I'm assuming it does since I had to Google it.

No, it's him everyday in his office. And when another GM says no to his ridiculous trade offer, his response is:

He said "you just lost a box, pal" pretty aggressively. Is that not enough?

No, he's one of those millennial kids. Never heard of great shows like Magnum, P.I., M*A*S*H, Cheers, Three's Company, etc. Especially someone like Johnny Carson. I could go back to the Merv Griffin Show, Mike Douglas Show.
God I'm old.

It's not as simple as trading Hammer + for for top winger. The Isles have very little cap space. Hammers contract i believe is 3.5 a year...where are you going to find a top winger at that price...JVR is the only option than i'd rather keep Hamonic. You have to think about the future regarding the cap. As far as finally getting a top winger for JT. Sorry but, JT should be making those players around better. Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin have played with some no names and have made those players better. Look at Laine, Macdavid, Eichel Marner, Matthews how they make players around them better. Stop blaming the coach the players...etc....JT needs to raise his game and his competitive drive. Look at Toews play....doesnt matter who he plays with. JT has showed flashes of this in the past P.A and Moulson. I feel he's regressed since knee injury. He looks lost and gives the puck away at least 4-5 times a game.

I wonder if he used that line when teams would not give up a #1 for Bailey or Kulimen?

If you can watch meatspin, you can watch Carnac. Though the age of it, I think you will find boring. Since it dates back to the '70's. You will probably be up all night burning up the google box to reference the material spoken of.

Everyone of the players you've mentioned that are elite, have a winger who compliments them. Every real deal team has a 1-2 punch. JT has played with sub par guys for most of his tenure on the island. Im sorry but for 5 years Bailey was playing bottom 6 minutes and was thought of as a defensive forward. Now he's Line 1 RW?

When the isles had Vanek/JT/KO they were the hottest line in hockey for a stretch. Thats not by coincidence. You cant expect Tavares to not have top end wingers.......because then what happens is he tries to do too much, and then gives away the puck, and has fans saying he's not the same since the knee injury.

Get 91 top end wingers and watch what happens...

Are you out of your mind? Jt has been carrying this team. He turns it over because he's trying to do too much. This coaching staff I ludicrous and putrid. You can't tell me that a better coach would not have the gap between the D and forwards on break-outs closed up for better zone exits. And hate to tell you, but the guys you mentioned all have talent playing with them. Ovi/Backstrom, Crosby/Kessel, Toews/Hossa. Have they had lesser talent with them previously, absolutely. Did the Pens win the year after Crosby was drafted? no. Ovi still hasn't won one. You can't throw this entire failure of a season at the feet of JT. He needs to have talent riding shotgun with him in order to succeed. I'll agree that he should make other players better, but if they're not capable of raising their game, then what is he supposed to do?
As far as cap space goes, yes you have to take that into consideration. This was just a little what would you do trade thing. However, salary can be moved to make space. The future has been a consideration for 10 years. It's time to think about the now. Look at the Hawks, Pens, TB. They're up against the cap as well. Guess what? They fighting for championships. This team is fighting to get into the playoffs.

Exactly KR. I took longer to make the same point (boss stopped to talk to me). You can't expect a donkey to win the Kentucky Derby because you worried about the future of your stables.

Im not trying to re hash the same old same old, but the fact that the isles are at the salary ceiling and are so thin up top is astounding. There's far too many "middle 6" forwards on this roster, and just because they are paid well doesnt make them top line guys. The salary scale is so outta wack on this team, and i think the record shows.

Yeah they beat the Rangers who were without half their lineup. A few wins by this team does not negate the fact that the roster is flawed, and the coaching is abysmal. Another too many men call last night.......its comical.

Yeah, those were much more reserved times and a lot less was tolerated on television. Hell, it was only maybe 10-15 years prior that a married TV couple was shown in the same bed.

Have to agree. That was one of my points, amongst others on here, going back several blogs. How are teams like the Hawks, Pens, Caps, TB, Wings, etc. at the cap and always in the mention as cup contenders and the Isles are consistently backing their way into the playoffs. While being a cap team. It makes no sense to me either.

This is what happens when you have someone with no experience managing assets. Im sure Snow is a great guy, and was passable with a rebuild, in that he wouldnt trade away assets. But, now, its like this is way past his area of expertise.
