Lets not get crazy over JVR, he's a good player on a friendly contract, there's no need to sweeten anything.....

#Hamonic4Patches since Garf failed on Hall...

- Ur Not Me

Good player, yeah. Pretty consistent 20-30 goal scorer (mostly high 20's), averaging .63 points per game, big kid, fairly team friendly (cap hit of $4.25m through next season). I'd say they're going to want something more than Hammer. Maybe a pick, maybe a prospect. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not the biggest JVR fanboy in the world, but since the Leafs were thrown out there, he's the biggest forward name there.

Yeah he is a good winger and all when he's not coasting, but (frank)...

Would rather give you Eberle for a 2nd than see that Richard in an Islander jersey.

- Wildschwein

I dont know why u dont like him but he's easily top 6 LW in game, consistent 20- 30g scorer on a team that has problems scoring goals.....

My dislike is not so much due to his performance as player but rather his attitude and the squad he currently captains.
Would he be a valuable player and possibly the winger JT has been waiting for? Quite likely.
Would I still vomit in my mouth a little rooting for him? You betcha.

He's a perfect fit, like Hall would have been. But that's another day.
Patches is solid all around, skating, checking, D and even can shoot on net....

Maybe MTL may move him bc heard they want to make Weber captain and cant strip him for no reason, could happen in off-season tho

No way would I include an MDC, Beau or Barzal along with Hammer for JVR.
- ses111

Definitely not. But I wouldn't have an issue giving up Hammer & a 3rd or 2nd for JVR. He's got 11g & 9a through 24 games this season. He's got value. Plus, look at the teams he's played on in the last few years.

Just asking, do u think Eberle is a better player than Patches?

Wouldn't say no to Patches either. Schwein would get over it eventually.
By the way Schwein, what the (frank) was that last night in Buffalo?

Not saying all Gm's are dumb but that Hall trade to NJ sorta set the market on Dmen and the value of them. Lets not twist my post, but saying what a premium is on dmen.

Isles probably can get JVR for Dehaan possibly

- Ur Not Me

Me twisting posts? Never! I would be very surprised if JVR could be had for de Haan. Garth better be on the phone right now if this trade can happen.

worst GM in the league by a country mile. after that finals appearance they had, it's like they floored the team bus straight into a brick wall.

My Grandfather is a Habs fan so I have been forced to watch Patches a great deal more than I would like to admit. For the most part I think they are damn near the same player with Patches have the better shot and Eberle having better hands in close. Both are 60ish point wingers who go cold and disappear for stretches and neither are physical or particularly defensively minded. I think its pretty much a wash.

T'was a (frank)ing travesty! I was so mad that I damn near punted my computer through the window.

Then I watched Hall level Larsen and and pot a goal and an assist and felt somewhat better.

It was a good, clean hit. Larsen was just in a bad position. Out cold before he hit the ice. Good news was that he was responsive while leaving the ice.

Yup it was a bit scary. Hit was clean as you said, but all those dumb (frank)s kicking Larsen in the head to get at Hall pissed me off.

I should hope not. I correctly predicted the Isles would win and Ladd would get the winner. I guess I'm him?

No, it's him everyday in his office. And when another GM says no to his ridiculous trade offer, his response is:

I said Carnac not God. Carnac is sensing Garth and Cappy are on borrowed time once the new president is named.

this team is the worst at line changes I've seen in years. repeated odd man rushes while 3 isles skate slowly past the play to the bench to change...over and over again.

fundamental hockey - you get the puck deep, then you change. You don't leave the play and your teammates shorthanded to coast to the bench while they defend against the rush.
