Except the pipeline was going to be like 5 miles from the reserve and they were protesting on government land. Those guys were being more hippy than native. - LittleRickyV2

I guess it was only last year, and it was a tattoo of Auschwitz, but he is a politician and he was at a public swimming pool. 8 months in prison. |

They're not allowed to have a neo-Nazi party for obvious reasons. |

Except the people in Europe didnt inow what it was. It was pretty obscure in western culture, it didnt have a long sacred History there. Only the highly educated were aware of it. For most it was the first time they even saw it.
As for the cultures that do use the symbol as intended...nothing changes for them - Larsson_fan
Maybe if they were more open minded to the two cultures that makes up 19% of the worlds religious population than we could have avoided this whole mess and the Swastika and Toothbrush Moustache wouldn't be tarnished forever. |

Neo Nazi are pretty much the biggest (frank) holes next to the KKK. |

I would assume so. KKK dont have any text or ideology to my knowledge, whereas the nazi do ...but otherwise, yeah. |

I'm not exactly up to date on the KKK's beliefs, but while the modern KKK probably lifted a lot of ideas from the Nazi's. The originals were formed far earlier, as a result of the result of the Civil War. |

Hardly. The tactics used by columbus are absolutely criminal.he is not a great man. Hes a genocidal maniac. - Larsson_fan
For real? I'm not trying to say Columbus was a great individual, I didn't know him and I don't know much about what he was like as a person except that when it comes to judging characters from those days it is important to maintain context.
What I do know is Columbus essentially 'discovered' (for Europeans/Asians/Africans) the 'New World' and initiated some of the early European colonization efforts that would eventually become the developed world (particularly NA/SA) as we see it today. I mean if you really think the world is so much worse off as of today due to colonization then I guess that's your own personal delusion. Were there potentially more humane ways to reach the same point? Of course, and they are important to acknowledge/study but this is true of most war/conquest history that ended in bloodshed. I agree the truth of Columbus should be taught to students, but mostly in the context of those in similar circumstances, and I hardly think that warrants a Hitler comparison.
If you consistently apply today's moral standards to historical contexts you will slowly come to the conclusion that the majority of successful historical leaders/regimes are basically deserving of comparison to Hitler. This is not a very enlightened approach to studying history. [revised] |

Who's we, Herr Pielep? - Larsson_fan
'We' would be those of us who would like to identify and monitor radical extremists for security/screening purposes. I mean why make it illegal to glorify the swastika when you can allow people to publicly glorify the swastika, label them as potential Nazi threats and treat them appropriately. |

History: where most of the people who have made it this far can probably thank some deplorable/ruthless ancestor/political leader who was deserving of comparison to Hitler. - RonPielep
You hit the nail on the head with that statement.
Not only that but moral standards are constantly changing. I mean compare today to just 10 years ago. You will see a vast difference between the ethical and moral standards.
This is in part due to a multitude of factors. The biggest one is technology and technological advancement. |

The victors get to write the history books. The Revolutionary war was nothing more than an insurrection. |

Columbus is Hitler, Castro is Hitler, Bush is Hitler, Mother Theresa is Hitler, Obama is Hitler, Trump is Hitler, you are Hitler and I am Hitler. Everybody is Hitler. Can you find any other more descriptive way to express yourself please? |
