fancy stats has taken away trash talking
8 years ago Chickendirt would have been in here with "you guys suck" "Queen Lundqvist is overrated" "the Rag$ bought the '94 Cup"

you think any decent trades (not necessarily involving the rangers) happen before the holiday trade freeze? |

same, league seems so stagnant right now. no real moves in standings besides columbus, and no movement player wise |

The Expansion Draft definitely had teams getting set, any moves and you could screw up the specific players you want to protect so teams need to be careful and probably aren.t looking to move pieces that may change their plans |

at the same time theres some teams like ANA that will lose a valuable Dman that I expect to make a move at some point, but that probably wont be till offseason |

Elaborate some. What would you like to see?
Trade that high stock going now in Nash?

Honestly...I hope it doesn't happen, but the Rangers will lose Raanta in the expansion draft. A goalie of his caliber and salary? It's a sure thing. Probably why he was signed to a two-year deal. |

It should come down to Raanta or Fleury in Pittsburgh; though, they will need two anyways. There will be some players left exposed due to their high salary and if Vegas spend correctly, they can grab a high-priced/profiled player or two. Gotta sell them tickets! |

I think that Nash is a hell of a lot more important to this team than people realize. I know I am in the minority on that one, but for this year, I don't think any trade where the Rangers would send Rick Nash away would make the team better.
Just my opinion.

You need to come on at game time Pete. Its a lonely road defending Nash. |

It's been crazy lately for me. A lot of things going on, on all fronts.
But, just know I am with you on Nash. Keep fighting the good fight.

I agree. I like Nash...the Nash of this season. Guy is playing big and taking the puck to the net all the time. This is the Nash that can score 30-40. |

I actually look at losing Raanta as glass half full.
It means we didn't lose someone else |

I can understand that...
They have to take 3 goalies and I think they will end up taking 4...obviously the best move is to just pick the best guy from each team and figure the rest out at the draft, but yeah, I really dont see them taking Raanta. He was signed for 2 years so they would expose him, because they had to (in reference to a previous comment from someone) |

The Rangers have done a good job of finding middling prospects or backup goaltenders in the league, and turning them into solid backups. Talbot was a nobody as a prospect, and Raanta was a third stringer in Chicago before coming to the Rangers. Must have a pretty good goalie coach.

Hellberg is pretty good too and will be a RFA over the summer. I think they'd probably just go with him as the backup if they had to. |
