For a team in need he is.
They actually have Casey Nelson in the minors and don't recall him. They are hurting so badly. Some 19 year old CHL player is up there.

Spooner being a C, wouldn't it make sense for Granlund/Gaunce to be involved in any deal? We would need to clear room in the middle as well as for expansion protection...

It would be a mistake, but its the type of mistake i expect from a team that is expected to win despite having a non-competitive lineup. With any luck, after this year we have another top 5 pick and an owner that can finally see the writing on the wall.
