I was making sure Okposo was the player we had to protect, I wasn't totally sure it was him or ROR.

Not like it matters both would be protected anyway!

- Stripes77

I still have a hard time finding 4 players up front that we need to protect

ror, okposo, blank, blank

I guess if we are protecting 7 up front
ror, okposo, foligno, larsson, girgens, kane, carrier?

it's going to suck if we lose ullmark for nothing

I'm not jumping for joy about Bylsma but I am also not off with his head either.

I would like to see him with a team that is pretty close to being set and this roster is not.

Get me Landeskog and a top pairing D.

Kane Larsson Baptiste is a good 3rd line.

Landeskog Eichel Reinhart
Nylander ROR Okposo
Kane Larsson Carrier
Foligno COR Baptiste

If Nylander isn't ready next season (probably wont be) Kane moves up to the second.

How to get Landeskog the hell if I know!

- Stripes77

what if it was hall, eichel, reinhart
vesey, ror, okposo

Ullmark isn't exactly lighting up the AHL right now. I wouldn't be too worried about him especially with names like Fleury and Bishop being out there

Really would have liked Vesey here...

Hall would have cost Risto...sorry I can't do that

I don't think larsson is that much better than what we could have offered between picks and prospects

bad d

he is getting pasted every night

if they scout him, they may probably take him as their 3rd goalie

if they look at stats only, we may get by

True but it seemed like Edmonton wanted a young NHL defensemen Bogo isn't going to get it done. That only left Risto

With their hiring in the Hockey department it's a lot of advanced stat guys.

Moulson, Ennis, Carrier, Foligno are guys I could see them take

Edit: As far as getting no help from the D pretty similar to the Sabres...

Larsson also has extraordinary defensive numbers, which is what i assume they were looking for in a deal involving hall.

They were talking about that on WGR the other day (prior to the Saturday afternoon game I think).

Took him a bit to find his rhythm, but he's settled back in now and has done all he can for the most part. The team in front is not so hot.

Think about it, for the most part, the only guys we have down there that are even remotely close to a spot on an NHL roster are wingers or Ullmark. That's it. No centers, no defense.

I have a friend who has season tickets to rochester

he said, if you think the sabres d is bad, multiply it by 10 for rochester

once fedun and faulk came up, it's a 60 minute train wreck

Goalies don't steal games. They're part of the team. Having superior goaltending relates to having a superior team.

Hmmm...weren't we having this debate?

The cupboards are looking mighty empty at the AHL level right now. That's for sure.

I haven't really looked in a bit, but I think we still have a decent amount of guys in Jr/College. The problem we're seeing right now is that there have been quite a few that kind of skipped over the AHL part within the last few years or played very sparingly there for the most part and then made the jump to the big club. (Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, even Girgs for the most part). Plus the trades that Murray made depleted that even further. I don't think there's reason to panic, but it's for sure an awkward spot to be in for now.

yea assuming they spend time in rochester the D will look better in a year or two.

Fitzgerald, Borgen, Florentino, Nyberg maybe even stevens.
