So who will be the 4th PK forward with Read likely out for a bit?

Lyubimov and Laughton seem like the main candidates.

- Feanor

I think it's the ideal time to give Leier another shot at the NHL level. Not sure if it's feasible cap wise or if that depends how long Read is out for.

I think Bellemare has been playing some of his best hockey with the Flyers, but I honestly think Read has a lot to do with that. Will be interesting to see how things go

I can't believe the league didn't give him that goal. He clearly tipped it.

Cap is no problem, but if Gordon is activated they will have a full roster of 23 players.

I'm still puzzled in my quick scroll through Debate Club today how giving up 60% of goals when you're on the ice in your Flyers career (the worst on the team), having the highest goals against/60 on the team, and the lowest goals for/60 -- all in what are supposed to be soft, cushy, low event minutes as a prototypical plug...err excuse me, "reliable" 4th liner -- is NOT being "heavily outscored."

It's the very definition!

No, the very definition of being heavily outscored at 5 on 5 is not based on unreliable, and misleading stats. +/- is a very simple stat where you get a minus if you're on the ice for a goal against, and a + if you're on the ice for a goal your team scores. We also know that Vandevelde is not on the ice for a lot of goal scored by the Flyers. Yet, since the 14/15 season, over a span of 178 games, he is a combined minus 17. That is indisputable. That may be your definition of heavily outscored, but it's not mine.

Chris VandeVelde, in his Flyers career over the last 3 years, has been on the ice for 47 goals for and 73 goals against at 5v5. The Flyers lose the scoring battle 39%-61% when he is on the ice. As a 4th liner generally playing against 4th liners. That's being outscored heavily.

Chris VandeVelde, in his Flyers career, is -26 at 5v5, in case you can't comprehend that Goals For % is the same thing as +/- but in % form and taking out the filler and noise like empty net goals (which he benefits a lot from) and the like. It's very simple.

It's actually amazing to look at it relative to other players (like the usefulness of /60 stats to account for minutes differences) -- but not even /60. Chris VandeVelde has been on the ice for 2 less goals than Matt Read and 7 less goals than Sean Couturier (and even has 1 MORE goal against than Raffl) despite playing 500 less minutes of the cupcake variety in usage. That's amazing. And in no way is that not being heavily outscored and a huge drag.

The myth of Chris VandeVelde safe, defensive first player needs to die.

For anyone who watches West World, I'm curious about the possibility for a season 2. Based on the ending of season 1, I'm not sure how that's possible. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it yet but I'm really curious what a season 2 would/could look like.

That being said, the season finale was awesome!

No it's not being outscored heavily. That is being outscored by 26 goals over a span of however many games it is, 170+ games.

14/15 72 games -7
15/16 79 games -6
16/17 27 games -4

That is not the +/- of a player that the team is heavily outscored when he is on the ice.
Vandevelde is a -20 in his Flyers career.

All the majors have signed on already for season 2 (though it's not coming back until 2018). I don't know what you were watching haha, but they really set the table well for moving forward with the characters and world. Many possibilities. It was so full and rich I'm going to have to watch it again!

And I think it was Evan Rachel Wood who called Season 1 a "prequel" to the real story.

Also, it wasn't in the finale, so it's not really giving anything away, but there was something on the pretend-real Westworld website afterwards that had a hidden clue in base code that translates to a website with a video of Elsie's voice. Ooooo.
