Exactly. Who do they build around? Not everyone gets a Crosby, Ovechkin, Mcdavid, Eichel etc. type player dropped into their lap. Mack was and in my opinion still is the best player in that draft. Sometimes all you can do is play the hand you're dealt. So I'm not sure what you propose they do? You only seem to complain on here and not voice any ideas.

1. Barrie for Pacioretty. Or Trouba
2. Soderberg + 2nd for Eberle
3. Iginla for scrap metal
4. Gelinas for scrap metal
5. Mcleod healthy scratched for remainder of season
6. Greer, Compher and Bigras Brought up

Just using him as an example because he was being pumped up as one of the two "generational talents" before the draft that year. I still have hope that Mack will become a guy that can put the team on his back like that. I think he'll end up being pretty similar to a Taylor Hall which is okay by me. I'm not excited at all about this draft either. Looking like the guys projected to go 1-2 won't even be playing in the world juniors this year which is pretty bad. Looking like the Avs will be ending up with a high pick. Would be nice if they could trade down to acquire more picks and continue to re-stock the cupboard.

unless Avs are getting quality back, I dont think they look at moving any Core guys. If a team like the Islanders or Florida want to move value for value then sure they can start looking at some trade talk. And no hamonic for dutch is not value for value, no matter what Dater and the idiots on twitter have been hammering on

Totally agree, picks and prospects at this point in time is just prolonging our situation. We need a rob blake style trade, we need Kariya selanne style signings at free agency, enough Richardin around.

Agreed. I'd love to see a blockbuster go down. Like i said earlier the only guys that should be untouchable are Mackinnon and Rantanen. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of most of our "core" guys but this team needs a change just for the sake of shaking things up. What we have just isn't working.

Hypothetically if you could pick who would you guys want to see added? I'd like to see a ducks d man like fowler or vatanen. I assume Lindholm isn't an option. Wouldn't mind seeing a tampa forward here too if they have to trade somebody before the expansion draft. Tyler Johnson Palat or Drouin would look good in an Avs uni.

Could be a nice improvement to our awesome depth forwards.

Fowler and Hamonic are they same boat for me, highly over rated in their trade price for above average Dmen. I dont think they are worth the steep price to get.

Any team that trades for them are taking 2 steps back 1 step fwd with what they will have to give up for them. There are better smarter trade options out there for this team to explore

Then who do you build around then, if you cant see Mack as a top line talent with his skill set, I dont know what to say man, you wont like anything about this team if you cant enjoy MacK as the talent that he is

Yakupov best offensive year was 33 points playing 81 games. MacKinnons worse season was 38 points playing 64 games. MacK is on pace for a 54 point season and is as snake biten as a guy can be with his shooting%. He is not the problem
