EK (like Ghost) doesn't generally play on the PK because it's a horrible misuse of his minutes.

Is it? They were the worst PK team in the league last season, and the team barely used EK there despite him being surprise (!) their best rated PKer on the back end. Erik Karlsson has been used regularly on the PK this year, and I'm sure that's played a big role in jumping them from ranked 30 to 11 at present.

I'm sure that's played a role in their record too. It's quite the opposite of a misuse.

If you look at the numbers -- all the numbers -- with him on vs. off, Ottawa honest to god became one of the absolute worst teams in hockey. Scary how much he carries that team.

In my opinion Karlsson is one of those outliers. Hes so dominant offensively and with the puck that he can make a big impact on the game,.despite his subpar defensive play.
