If Eric Semborski had to emergency backup Mason, the fans would want Eric Semborski in net

He's probably going top 3. Like, yeah, he's great, but getting excited about him is as pointless as hoping we draft Nolan Patrick. There is 0.0% chance he will be there. I'm trying to gather info on guys who have some chance to be there in the teens.

He is rising but fine how about Matthew Strome

Better yet Alexander Chmelevski

Strome is the worst of that family and also the slowest, like really slow. He's not even on my radar. If both his more talented brothers have had struggles with more tools, he worries me.

Chmelevski was in talks to be a borderline 1st rounder before the season, but he hasn't done as well as expected this year. But he's an extremely good skater and has some potential. I'm thinking he might be more of a 2nd rounder at this point.

Some names I'm looking at are Martin Necas and Elias Pettersson (who both may go too high, but they could also fall out of top 10), Shane Bowers, Cody Glass, Ryan Poehling, Lias Andersson among centers. Kind of strange that most of the centers aren't CHL guys, so it's harder to find their games. Then guys like Yamamoto (who I've seen a bunch and always love but he might not be a 1st), Heiskanen (Finnish LD). I'd really like to grab a high potential center.

I know you're with me. We need to target a center with legit top 6 upside, either one who slips through or one who will go around top 10, for whom the team can reasonably trade up. We need to find this year's Clayton Keller to obsess over in case of a trade up and this year's German Rubtsov to settle for if we don't.

Agree with me.

So many centers available especially in the first two rounds would be kinda silly not to take one

Watched Nick Suzuki last night with Owen Sound but that game was mostly a defensive game & tough when looking to see some players showcase some offense

Only Mattheos is a center, and I'm not sure if he is one long term. He hasn't been anything great this year, especially with Patrick down, but I have seen him when watching Provorov. I know he has some potential. It looks like a big reach to pick him in the 1st right now.

Comtois has just slid down the ranks this year after being a consensus top 5 pick pre-season. He might very well be available. A lot of that has to do with no Laberge to help him, but I'd like someone who isn't more of a complimentary player. I like Comtois...he's well rounded, good physical tools, but he seems lower ceiling. 16 points in 29 games is just not good enough, though I've seen him a couple times this year already, and he did look fine. Shades of Lawson Crouse.

I really liked Vesalainen watching u18s last year, but scouts seem to be all over the place on him and his offensive potential. He's another maybe middle 6, safe ceiling.

I've been on board with that -- every time Couturier has been out over the last year, it reminds you that of all the good things they have in the system, a projectable center would be really nice to get
