As long as the player that originally hand passed it is the first player on that team to touch it, its a legal play no matter what zone.

Another stupid wording. "Gain an advantage" WTF does that mean? If Bergeron doesn't bump it to the front of the net, it's either in the corner or he has it behind the net. Either way the Bruins gained an advantage from the hand pass.

Right but you have to go back to the original rule, it would have had to go to a teammate. The "and subsequently possession and control of the puck is obtained by a player of the offending team" that wording needs to have unless it's the person who started the hand pass to complete the rule which the original rule I posted has.
