Does anyone know of a way to find out the Flyers record when wearing these atrocious jerseys? I'm sure it is just a coincidence but they seem to play much worse when wearing these sweaters. |

I actually thought they played pretty well in this first.
Giroux looks decent, but Konecny seems to be the most consistent catalyst on offense. Good for him.
Lines 3 and 4 need a big revamping but we know that. Useless. |

Tons of blocked Flyers shots already.
Theyve played a good period except for that one defensive (frank) job |

This game looks like the All-Star game but without the entire lineup of elite players. There's almost zero body contact. It's all stick checks and fly-bys. I guess that's what the league wanted. Also the skill and speed of the league overall nowadays makes it's extremely difficult for a 4th line or energy line to go out there and play physical unless they're skilled enough to actually be up on the play to make a hit. |

Hawks have been an active stick checking team for a couple years now. Really good at tying sticks without taking penalties |

I think teams can be physical, but if you are a slower player with limited skills you are done.
Flyers have players in Cousins and Weise on offense that should be making it a little harder to play against. Invisible so far. |

they've had a good period. no real good looks at the net yet, and one breakdown...which always seem to end up in their net. |

The other issue is players are absolutely petrified to make hits for fear of getting a penalty or a suspension. Players can't take hits anymore and put themselves into prone positions trying either to avoid the hit and thus making themselves more vulnerable to injury or a hit resulting in head-first contact or drawing a penalty - the old turn at the last second and face the boards and flop. |

Shots 16-6 but would say the Hawks have had the more dangerous chances by far.
Not bad overall, thought Manning looks pretty damn good. |

Yeah the Hawks, just like the Pens are fantastic at the staggered attack. Their high-end wingers can gain the zone with speed and fan out wide with the center staggered later into the zone and all of the back-checkers scramble back at which point their 3rd tier of stagger is a wide open defenseman for a prime chance. |
